Tell me what you know about Oceania and when was the last time you heard about the islands of Nan Madol. This area has been very little studied, although it deserves the closest attention. In this article, we will consider the so-called artificial antediluvian islands.
These islands are geographically located in the Federated States of Micronesia and cover an area of about 80 hectares. The number of islands is 92 and they are all connected by a branched system of canals of the same artificial origin.
In local legends, the history of the emergence of these buildings looks like this: Two brother deities named Olosope and Olosipe, wandering through the surrounding mountains, cast their gaze on the ocean. And they saw there, at the bottom, the dazzling beauty of the underwater city of Hanimweiso. He impressed them so much that the brothers decided to build his reflection on the surface. This is how the artificial islands of Nan - Madol appeared.
This territory is part of the Caroline Islands and until the 15th century, the capital of the Saudeler dynasty was located there. Translated from the local dialect Nan - Madol means - Intervals (it means the system of connecting channels).
This complex is unique in its kind. The only place that even remotely resembles it is located half a thousand kilometers on the island of Kusai, where the ruins of the ancient city of Lelu are located.

Although Nan-Madol is considered artificial islands, in their essence they are not. From a purely practical and technical side, these are just the remains of the foundations of large buildings, which were flooded by the rising world ocean.

To successfully complete the construction within an acceptable time frame would require at least 10,000 workers, who from morning to evening were exclusively engaged in the construction of these artificial islands. And this huge aftermath still needs to be served, that is, fed, clothed and provided with all the necessary equipment.
They also calculated the yield of all available agricultural lands of the islands and it turned out that food would not even be enough for 8,000 workers.
The issue of stone processing is also acute, because most of them are carved from basalt, and as you know, this material requires harder tools, for example, iron. And the first Spanish explorers who visited these islands found the local population, which in its development was hopelessly stuck in the Stone Age. The Papuans did not even have burnt pottery.
These are the mysterious artificial islands of Nan Madol, they are full of still unsolved mysteries and mysteries. And this is confirmed by the latest studies of the seabed. Thanks to them, many completely flooded buildings were discovered, located at a depth of 50 meters. What will be found there remains a complete mystery.
