Parasitic worms rarely make us feel good, but the story of this Indian woman who found 150 unwanted guests in her stomach is truly terrifying.
An unexpected problem
Doctors in India removed approximately 150 live worms from a young woman's intestines. Some of them reached 25 centimeters in length. A 22-year-old patient, Nehu Begum, from Uttar Pradesh state in northern India, suffered from abdominal pain, vomiting and constipation for several months. Despite consulting local doctors, they could not make the correct diagnosis, and therefore simply recommended that she take some pain relievers.
But after a severe attack of illness in the new year, she was forced to visit the hospital in Chanduli. The physical examination revealed something unusual in the patient's abdomen, so the team of doctors decided to act in hopes of finding the cause of her problems. During the five-hour operation, the doctors discovered that the problem was even more unusual than they realized.

The eggs of the worms may have entered her body through her mouth. This could happen due to the lack of hygiene and cleanliness in and around the house where the patient lives.
A week after the surgery, Nehu was able to eat solid food and is now recovering. The patient is optimistic after the operation.
The girl thanked the doctors, saying: “I could spend the whole night crying and writhing in pain. It also affected my married life. But now, I think my husband and I can enjoy the happiness of marriage. I am very grateful to the doctors for eliminating this problem."
What parasites lived in the girl's body
Doctors do not disclose what type of parasites the girl was infected with. Nevertheless, judging by its appearance, it could be a kind of roundworm. A surprisingly large number of these parasites can live in the human body without causing any noticeable symptoms, provided they do not interfere with the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. However, it's safe to say that having 150 parasites living inside you won't go unnoticed.
