In 2009, a number of political and astrological forecasts were published by the famous astrologer, head of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory Mikhail Kalyuzhny. Five years ago, the scientist predicted in detail the political, military and economic cataclysms tearing apart the modern world, absolutely unrealistic from the standpoint of those years. Taking into account the positive experience of the forecasts that came true, we turned to Mikhail Ivanovich with a request to tell us what awaits us in the near future.
Mikhail Ivanovich, what are your forecasts based on?
- My forecasts are based on the cyclical nature of events with a period of about 72 years. This cycle is called the saros month. It is based on the so-called Saros cycle - a period of 18 years (more precisely, 18 years 11 days or 6,585 days), after which the eclipses of the Moon and the Sun are repeated in the same order. It combines an average of 41 solar and 29 lunar eclipses. The Sarosny month, like the lunar month, is divided into 4 phases of 18 years each, and the "full moon" occurs 36 years after the beginning of the cycle.
Accordingly, with this period, events in human history should also be repeated every 72 years (plus or minus 1-2 years, taking into account the fact that all historical events are not a one-time act, but a process extended in time with many complex cause-and-effect relationships).
In 2009, there were a number of solar and lunar eclipses. They were identical to the eclipses of 1990, when calls were made for the proclamation of independence of the union republics, which eventually led to the collapse of the USSR. What, besides eclipses, connected these two dates?
- Still the same 18-year Saros cycle. Counting from 2009 back to 18 years, I got the most important dates for the evolution of the Soviet Union. The year 2009 itself was event-like exactly repeating the years 1936-1938 identical to it. The parallels are obvious: the USSR is practically a lonely island in a hostile environment, it has no allies. Industry is extremely weak and backward, and agriculture is in decline after its barbaric reform through collectivization.
True, there is a fairly strong military-industrial complex. World War II is on the doorstep. This is the time of the strengthening of authoritarianism and the birth of a new Soviet elite, regional military conflicts, the search for allies and the restructuring of the entire economy to solve the problems generated by the global economic crisis.
5 years have passed, and it turns out that today we are on a new round of the historical spiral, corresponding to 1941-1943. Are we expecting a surprise attack by an enemy army, a new battle for Moscow and victory in 2017, as well as a complete restoration of economic and industrial power by 2026?

- By and large, it is necessary, because it is a cycle for that and a cycle. However, history never repeats itself literally. Russia will undoubtedly become a great world power again.
So, having calculated the key dates of the past using the Saros month, we can assume what awaits us in the near future?
- In general, yes! Counting back the 72-year Saros months, it is possible to calculate the key periods in the history of the state.
2014-72 = 1942 - the most difficult period of the Second World War, the defense and surrender of the Crimea by the Soviet troops. By the way, an interesting fact: over the past two centuries, Crimea has been defended many times - and always unsuccessfully: the attackers have always taken Crimea. So it was in the Crimean War of 1853-1856, and in the Civil War in 1920; in the Second World War, the Crimea was handed over twice - in 1942, we, and in 1944, the Germans.
1942-72 = 1870 - the time of reforms in the 1860-1870s and the hunt for Emperor Alexander II, which ended in the triumph of terrorists.
1870-72 = 1798 - the time of conspiracies against Emperor Paul I, who was killed as a result in March 1801.
1798-72 = 1726 - the beginning of the reign of Empress Catherine I, who had no right to the throne and ascended it as a result of a palace coup organized by Menshikov. There is also a very reasonable version that Emperor Peter I was poisoned by conspirators in 1725.
1726-72 = 1654 - here there is a historical collapse and almost complete analogy with the present day! This year in our historical science is usually called the year of the reunification of Ukraine with Russia. In fact, this event consisted in the transition of the registered Zaporizhzhya Army and part of the territories of modern Ukraine (Hetmanate) under its control to Russian citizenship, in which the West saw the annexation of the territories by Russia. In simple terms, it was the annexation of the rebellious territories of a neighboring state. By the way, Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich opposed this annexation for a long time, but Patriarch Nikon persuaded him …
It turns out that 1654 is the closest to the events of our days. If we continue the analogy, what did the annexation of the Zaporozhye Army to Russia lead to?
- In 1654, the main motive for the annexation of a part of Ukraine to Russia was the deliverance of the Orthodox population of Little Russia from religious and social oppression from the Polish gentry and the Catholic clergy. The Cossacks were saved by paying for it with a long war with the Commonwealth. Moreover, almost immediately after the annexation of Ukrainian territories to Russia, an endless series of betrayals and betrayals by the Cossacks and hetmans began. Hatred of Russia at times poured out into wild forms, even for that harsh time.
For example, in the Battle of Konotop (1659), the Cossacks, having entered into allied relations with the Poles and Tatars, captured a Russian detachment of 5,000 people under the leadership of Prince S. R. Pozharsky. The prince was executed, the rest of the Russian prisoners were taken out to the field and slaughtered, although according to the traditions of those years, the prisoners were usually ransomed.
Such disloyal behavior of the liberated Cossacks towards Russia lasted more than 50 years. Everything was changed by the Battle of Poltava, after which Peter I not only completely dispersed the entire Zaporozhye Sich, but also significantly limited the powers of the hetman's power.
Russia won in the end …
- Yes, but in fairness I must say that modern Crimea and New Russia are completely different territories and peoples that were annexed to Russia in the 17th century, and direct analogies are inappropriate here. But the lessons of history should not be forgotten either. However, the current events in and around Ukraine are just a single episode in a big drama that is being played out before our eyes.
What can we expect in the near future?
- According to my theory of cycles, we are now at an event point analogous to 1941-1942, which is also influenced by the events of 1924 (1942-18 = 1924) and 1906 (1942-36 = 1906).
1906 - the time of the first Russian revolution, suppressed by the government, and a severe economic crisis. 1924 - the death of Lenin, the NEP, the building of the USSR. 1941 - the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. All these past events will have an impact on the further development of the current situation. I will not describe in detail the details of the most likely scenario for the upcoming drama, I will only say one thing: for the USSR then everything ended well - they won the war and built a mighty power. We can handle it now!
It is no longer possible to radically rewrite the scenario of the coming years - the “historical inertia” is too great, but we are quite capable of emerging victorious from the new Cold War. However, there is one historical nuance. In March 1945, British Prime Minister Churchill ordered his chiefs of staff to develop Operation Unthinkable. According to her, the war against the USSR was to begin on July 1, 1945. With 110 divisions: American, British, Polish, Canadian and so on … plus ten German ones.
The goal of the Unthinkable was to inflict a total defeat on the Soviet Union so that our country would completely submit to the will of the United States and Great Britain (the British in 1998 handed over copies of these orders and plans of the Unthinkable to Russia and published them in the press). Only the enormous power gained during the war years allowed the USSR to avoid that war. It is easy to see that if we add 72 years to 1945, we get 2017. Thus, we have very little time to accumulate strength and not only avoid the threat of a big hot war with the West, but also defeat it in an economic war.
Is the future victory of Russia over the West also predicted by the stars?
- In fact, yes. If we add 36 years to 1942 (the conditional saros full moon), then we get 1978 - the peak of the power of the USSR, after which its decline began. Adding another 36 years, we find ourselves in 2014 - the saros new moon: the end of the period of decline and the beginning of growth, a new cycle. A very good time to win and build a new world architecture.
