Each major city contains a huge number of all kinds of mysterious places. The capitals are especially famous for this, as places where historical events took place, including very cruel and bloody ones. Wars, epidemics, coups, revolutions, uprisings at all times primarily concerned the capitals.

In Europe, in the Middle Ages, the Inquisition and the plague were mixed with this. There was also a plague in Moscow, albeit not on such a monstrous scale, but as a replacement for the Inquisition, one can consider the oprichnina.

All this makes Moscow a city that has experienced no less blood and human suffering than any other European capital. Many old Moscow buildings, which do not at all look like a repository of horrors, in fact have many monstrous events in their history.

The famous Lubyanka is the first among such buildings. The widespread opinion that people were tortured and shot in some "Lubyanka basements" does not correspond to the truth. The courtyard of the Lubyanka contains a separate building - a six-story prison, where brutal interrogations were carried out. The executions were carried out in other places.

At the intersection of Bolshaya Lubyanka Street and Varsonofyevsky Lane there is a small light building. Judging by the appearance of the mansion, it can hardly be said that something cruel was happening in it. But it was in this building that the first headquarters of the NKVD was located. Meetings of the top of this organization took place here, the head of which was Felix Dzerzhinsky. In the courtyard of the house there is a car depot with pink garages. It is alleged that it was under these cheerful buildings that about 15 thousand people were shot in the period from 1918 to 1948.

Another place of mass executions was located at Nikolskaya Street, building 23. The people called this house "execution". It was the seat of the military collegium of the USSR Supreme Court. Often she passed a hundred sentences, which was especially proud of the chairman of the commission, Vasily Ulrich. In total, 30 thousand people were sentenced to capital punishment in this house. However, the executions were carried out in other places.

For many years, lovers of the mysterious unfinished hospital in Khovrino have attracted. It was a huge structure with steep staircases and endless cellars. On the territory of the hospital, they committed suicides, criminals were hiding. The Satanists met here. They say that here they performed their sacrifices, for which they were burned alive in the same basements by the Moscow SOBR. It is believed that about a hundred people died in total on the territory of the unfinished hospital for various reasons. In 2018, the building was demolished.
