The "dancing" Volgograd bridge takes the lives of people. More and more accidents occur on it. Traffic police officers believe that careless drivers are to blame, but people are sure that the point is in the bridge itself.

The bridge across the Volga in Volgograd won fame not only for its "dancing" - a video of the vibrations of the bridge crossing in a matter of hours scattered around the world. Every day it becomes more and more "famous" for dozens of car accidents in which people are killed or seriously injured.

In the past six months alone, several people have died in road accidents on the ill-fated bridge, and literally at the end of last week - four. State traffic inspectorates believe that drivers who neglect traffic rules are to blame. And the car owners themselves are sure that something bad is happening on the "dancing" bridge, and try to bypass it as much as possible.

- Last Saturday, August 10, the driver of Lada Priora, following the bridge across the Volga, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with an SsangYong SUV. Then he collided with Ford Focus and GAZ-3110 cars. As a result of the accident, two people, including the alleged culprit of the accident, died on the spot. Four people injured in the road accident - the driver and another passenger of the GAZ-3110 car, as well as a four-year-old child who was in a Ford Focus car, and a cyclist who was driving across the bridge at the time of the accident - were hospitalized with injuries of varying degrees severity.

According to eyewitnesses, travel across the bridge was difficult that day. The townspeople aspired to nature, because, having passed the "dancing" bridge, you can find yourself in the Sredne-Akhtubinsky region with its wonderful floodplain places, where Volgograd residents love to rest. The accumulation of cars on the bridge led to the formation of a multi-kilometer traffic jam in which traffic police officers tried to regulate.

Promotional video:

- The bridge route has a dedicated lane for special vehicles. Often ordinary drivers use the special lane, and all road users observe this. Why stand in a traffic jam when you can rush along the free lane with a breeze? This is also seen by the employees of the road patrol service, who practically do not react to what is happening. The risk of being involved in an accident in such a situation is very high - neglecting the elementary rules of the road and observing the inaction of "traffic cops", car owners rush to drive from one bank of the Volga to another. This rush ends in an accident and, as practice shows, for some it becomes the last in life.

Volgograd residents believe that it would be possible to streamline traffic on the bridge crossing, which among the people, in addition to the name “dancing”, has earned another one - “the bridge of death”, using video surveillance cameras installed along the entire route. The dashing ones who exceed the speed will be caught in the lens by the “all-seeing eye”, and the document on the violation and the protocol on the imposition of the fine will come automatically.

- The intensity of traffic on the bridge over the Volga at different times of the day is different. Video fixers could track the movement of cars, especially since video surveillance cameras are installed along the entire bridge crossing. Weather conditions have an effect on the nature of traffic: after rain, the track is slippery, but drivers are in no hurry to limit speed.

Eyewitnesses of the accident, which took place on the evening of July, believe that the "dancing" bridge has some anomalous properties. In front of dozens of people, the VAZ-2199 drove into a post for no reason, the car was torn to pieces, the 24-year-old driver died on the spot.

“I’m a skeptic, but something’s wrong with the bridge.” The new route has claimed many lives in a short period of time - the perpetrators of accidents, as a rule, die. Last summer, I witnessed how a foreign car crashed into a pole at full speed. The guy who was driving had the opportunity to "go away" to the side, and I am still tormented by the question: why did he not do this? Why is the bridge "dancing"? After all, no explanation has been found for this either. Maybe it is what other forces are warning us about the danger that the bridge over the Volga conceals in itself?

Employees of the traffic police department in the region reject such assumptions, believing that only drivers who do not follow traffic rules are to blame. In an interview with a reporter, one of the employees of the department noted that there can be no complaints against the inspectors of the road patrol service, they are coping with their duties. But the driving culture of Volgograd residents is far from being up to par. Accidents are happening more and more often.

- There can be no mysticism, the bridge is in good condition, the track is beautiful. To reduce the accident rate, it is necessary to increase the penalties for reckless drivers who imagine themselves as stuntmen on the "dancing" bridge. It would not hurt traffic police officers to raise their own vigilance: the number of accidents and deaths in this area suggests that the organization of traffic requires more attention here. You can also put another post, for example.

Valentin Gromyko, professional driver, test drive specialist, Volgograd

- A friend's brother had a terrible accident while driving over the bridge. He has yet to undergo several operations, in the accident he was badly injured. I went with friends, none of them was drunk. The driver seemed to be out of control. I am now trying to bypass this section. I drive through Volzhsky, although this, of course, takes much longer.
