The Ghost Rider has become the storm of a small village called Sleepy Hollow in New York City. On the eastern part of the Hudson, the whole area is steeped in rumors and legends according to which the ghost, who scares the whole district, during his lifetime was a cavalryman whose head was blown off by a cannonball fragment in a fierce battle. Despite the fact that his body was buried inside the base of the church fence, the ghost still cannot find solace as he has not yet found his severed head.
This is just one of hundreds of legends about the headless ghost. In the Czech Republic, this ghost always appears near the Doubravka mountain and the nearby castle of the same name. Every night, a ghost riding a horse is darker than the night and, holding his head close at hand, moves with great speed from the castle gates to the city of Letohrad, which used to be called Kishpek. In addition, do not forget that there is also a legend about the slopes of the mountain on which the castle stands, which says that the army of the castle found peace on its expanses, transferring parts of its soul to all the plants growing there, which, in turn, from that time began to possess magical powers. They begin to bloom no more than once every fifty years and for a very short time. If a person with a pure soul picks such a flower, the dead will have a chance to rest in peace.
Not far from the northern side of Germany, the legend of the Headless Horseman is becoming even more popular. In most cases, the appearance of this ghost has always been associated with imminent death. According to another belief, a warning was issued to a person who saw the headless horseman by higher powers, which should save him from committing a crime. After all, if he does it, the rider will return for his head. An example is a story that happened near the city of Rhine Westafalia - Linnich. Recently, local residents have been observing an amazing phenomenon. In the full moon, a rider gallops in the distance, who, by all indications, has no head. According to local legend, the Headless Horseman is a thief who stole a thing from the devil himself. Then he admired his skill and courage,fulfilled his request and sent him to earth to turn people away from evil deeds forever.
In Germanic legends, the horseman often acts as a spirit seeking revenge. Allegedly, during his lifetime, he was a soldier who for some reason lost his head, this led him to search for the killer, who allegedly kept his head as a trophy. Others claim that they repeatedly encountered the Horseman and that each time catching up with the travelers, he shouted: "Give me my head."
