Longmen (translated as "Stone Caves at the Dragon Gate") is a cave Buddhist temple complex in the Chinese province of Henan, 12 km south of Luoyang. One of the three most significant cave temple complexes in China. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

On the rocks and slopes along the banks of the Ihe River of the Longmengshan Mountains (western mountains) and Xiangshan (eastern mountains), 1,352 caves, 785 niches, 97,000 statues of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Arhats, and more than 3,680 inscribed stone tablets are preserved to this day. The total length of rocks with artificial caves is 1 km.

The grandest and largest of Longmen's sculptures await in the Fengxiang Ancestor Worship Grotto. In it, you can see the 17-meter figure of Buddha Vairochana, who personifies pure consciousness. Vairochana sits with a slight smile on his face in a meditative pose, and on both sides of him are bodhisattvas and arhats who help ordinary mortals to convey the depths of Buddhist teachings.
