Plants are living creatures. Botanists have even found that the so-called geopathogenic, that is, unfavorable for humans and animals, zones affect trees much more actively than people. In such zones, they simply do not grow, as they say, wither away at the root. And therefore, next to a healthy plant, we involuntarily fall under the “grace” of nature and involuntarily join those “currents” of the earth that the tree transforms.
If you look into the old reference books on traditional medicine, then the same mountain ash will have much more unusual properties than those listed in a simple horoscope. It was believed, for example, that mountain ash brings happiness to the house. And that is why many so lovingly planted mountain ash under the windows, in the front gardens. At the same time, they believed that an evil person would not enter the house protected in this way. Before the wedding, the groom and the bride were put on a twig of a tree in a shoe for luck and dashing. And breaking a mountain ash was considered to bring trouble.
And how many other legends there are about plants - keepers and helpers! Since ancient times, for example, there was a custom in Egypt and the Middle East to hang aloe on doors and windows. It was believed that this plant contributes to the prosperity of the house and its inhabitants, living longevity. And, apparently, rightly so. Aloe can survive for several years without water and even bloom.
The cyclamen flower also belongs to such "home amulets". Even the ancient Romans believed that he protects from all misfortunes. And, in addition, since the time of Hippocrates, women, gastrointestinal, nervous diseases, colds, gout, rheumatism have been treated with cyclamen. No less flattering words can be said about room geranium (pelargonium). She is loved and revered for the fact that the leaves are able to suck in poisonous air and even waste and dampness. Scientists have confirmed that the phytoncides of the flower really do a good job with microbes, the aroma can ease headaches, relieve fatigue, and normalize sleep.
Do not neglect for your garden such a well-known tree as aspen. Since pagan times, it has had a good meaning as a plant filled with an excess of strength: its leaves tremble, talk and thereby drive away all evil spirits, keep from diseases.
You can also recall the vervain, which gives love and a cheerful mood, the buckthorn, "relieving witchcraft", the elderberry - the emblem of zeal, the fig tree, whose branches save from angry bulls, and the leaves are used for fortune telling: on the sheet you write a question if the ink dries instantly - the answer is no. But the black mulberry, dedicated to Mercury - the patron saint of the enterprising, also contributes to success in business.
Not all superstitions are explicable. It is difficult, for example, today to say why the apple tree, laurel and some other trees were considered lightning rods, that is, having the ability to "remove lightning". Maybe, again, the point is that plants create fields and charges around themselves? In any case, plants can influence the formation of thunderstorms and lightning with the help of essential oils, which, when released, polarize the air and create charges of electricity.
And is it not surprising, for example, that the strongest ether-carrier - rhododendron - is used today by homeopaths, with a deterioration in health just before a thunderstorm? By the way, there is also an interesting detail in the ancient laurel cult. Ancient Greek fortune-tellers and priests wore laurel wreaths and chewed its leaves, for which they received the nickname “laurel eaters”.

They knew how to predict the future and heal, but it is not clear how this ability was stimulated by the plant? But ordinary trees, such as willow, hazel or pine, had a reputation for being wonderful. For example, warlocks made magic wands from willow to find treasures and recommended wearing a twig on themselves to protect them from hellish visions. Hazel sticks were used to find sources of water by dowsers. Pine was used to determine the mystical number of a person, which, according to legend, should contribute to luck: it was bypassed three times and how many cones were collected, this number was cherished.
You can list more and more. But the main thing is that in many legends and the names of trees themselves, indications of their healing powers are encrypted. The same mention that willow eliminates hellish visions can be explained by the fact that it still cures fevers, malaria and delirium with it. One of the species names of mountain ash - tormalis - means “healing the stomach”. And, as you know, "belly", if we start from the Slavic root, is not only health but also life.
The plane tree, according to one legend, is the tree of Helena the Beautiful, because of which the Trojan War began. And not without reason, apparently. Even the ancient Roman famous physician Quintus Seren Samonik recommended sycamore leaves against wrinkles on the face, to return beauty and youth.
But there are warnings in the names of trees and herbs. Just read: owl potion, shaitan berry, wolf berry, devil's apple. Everyone points to danger. And about the monster, now known as a houseplant, among the American Indians there were legends that it was devouring people in general. And also for good reason. The word "monstera" comes from the word "monster", which means a monster. The horsetail, well-known among the people, which has long been treating people, also turned out to be a trick. "Horsetail" translated from Latin means "horse tail". And in fact, it is really capable of knocking any horse down if it includes this herb in its menu.
And how not to be mistaken and choose a tree for treatment for a person unfamiliar with botany or herbal medicine? How many have recently been told about what can be recharged from plants, but there were specific warnings: they say, be careful with the poplar, it can take energy. Believe it or not?
As for the poplar, they wrongfully offended him. There is no mention of his bioenergetic "vampirism" in any old reference book on plants, or in books on magic plants (there were some). On the contrary, a lot of good words have been said. This tree, according to legend, is dedicated to Hercules, and he, as you know, did not suffer from frailty. Poplar bark and buds were also used for incense for inflammation.
So what about the recommendations, whether to beware of this or that tree? In one of his publications, Doctor of Tibetan Medicine V. Vostokov writes that in order to learn how to communicate with trees, one must be able to find “one's own” tree. But this search consists not in botanical tricks, but, figuratively speaking, in the intuitive recognition of one's “friend” from the plant kingdom.
“For this purpose,” he writes, “choose a beautiful tree with shiny leaves. You should feel sympathy and goodwill towards him. Get closer to him, feel his biofield. Stand next to him, hug him and merge with him. Close your eyes, feel the roots, the movement of juices from under the ground along the trunk upwards and their spreading along the crown."
In spring, the doctor says, the movement of juices is especially well heard. And you can feel the prana flowing down from above (the concept of vital energy in Indian philosophy). To do this, you need to identify yourself with the tree and experience the movement of ascending and descending energy. Thus, you can heal yourself, "cleanse" of neuroses - after communicating with the tree, many feel inner purity and peace.
And one more important recommendation. Leaving, you need to thank the tree, stroke it with your hand, show tenderness to it, as to your child. Doctor Vostokov believes that trees and plants have a nervous system. And therefore, they, like people, perceive and feel the world. And they help us - just like them, the children of Nature.
