The fear of death is one of the dominant fears in the mind of any person. Therefore, scientists devote numerous specialized studies to him. Within the framework of one of these scientific works, the age was determined for which the most pronounced fear of dying is characteristic.

It turned out that young people are much more afraid of death than the elderly. This conclusion, as noted by thematic media, surprised even the authors of the corresponding study.

“The older a person gets, the less he is disturbed by the fear of death. No, this fear, of course, persists throughout life, but over time it dulls and goes to a slightly different plane. After sixty, for example, the fear of death is incomparably less palpable than at twenty,”the authors of the scientific work say.

According to scientists, such conclusions were obtained as a result of numerous surveys in which representatives of different age groups took part.

Interestingly, people who are especially fearful of dying tend to be highly religious. That is, they are likely to console themselves with the prospect of an eternal afterlife.
