So. The church or temple of Cosmas and Damian is located on the Oka embankment in the city of Murom. This is one of the favorite resting places of the townspeople, and visitors too. It was from this place that Tsar Ivan the Terrible watched the crossing of his troops. But for some reason no one notices the church. I have not met any tourists, nor have I seen any pilgrims, of whom there are a lot in the city in summer. I learned from a local resident living nearby that it practically does not work. But once a year, on the second of August, the doors are open to those who wish. And when I photographed the dome, he said that the workers who restored the church in 2009 argued that the dome should be spiral. It turns out that the restorers knew perfectly well its shape before the explosion, but for some unknown reason they made a different one. But then you would have to paint it! Like St. Basil's Cathedral. Accordingly, this church would become a tourist attraction. But it seems that someone does not want this. This is such an inconspicuous one and was lost in a huge number of temples and monasteries of Murom.
It stands on a small hill. Looking closely, you understand: the hill is man-made!
Moreover, it seems that the church once fell asleep. They dug it out, but not completely. They did not take the land far away, they leveled it. It turned out to be a hill.

Why should builders make life difficult for themselves? It was easier to put the church a little forward, where the bank is flat. Or maybe this was done on purpose? Suddenly the spill will flood. Then what is it down there?
Yes, these are the remains of a window on the first floor, corny bricked up. In the previous photo, on the other side of the church, we also observe this, only more hidden. But what impressed me most was that this little church has THREE entrances. And if it is also filled up, there are three high entrances. Or exit?
Apparently, after all, churches, bell towers, temples, cathedrals, monasteries, especially the old ones, destroyed under the communists, are the remnants of a system for the production and transmission of energy. Many of these buildings are much older than we are told. Look at Murom, where are the residential buildings of the 15-16th centuries? There is none of them. It was destroyed by fire. What is it, they built churches, but there are no houses made of stone? Only made of wood? Or were all the inhabitants of the city so poor? Something I can't believe. The image of the villages of those times also makes you think. There are huts covered with thatch, and next to it is a church with golden domes. How is this possible? If we consider the church of Cosmas and Damian as a technical structure, then something big was clearly standing inside. And the access for servicing "this big one" was from three sides. If this “something” was still warming up, it was possible to use the inputs-outputs for cooling. I did not find any photographs of what is inside now. But…
My best friend joined my exploration walk. (Remember the movie "The Matrix"? The episode where the main character Neo is offered a choice of two pills?) The situation is identical with my friend. We were allowed to enter and take some photos.
The first thing we noticed. There are no traces of frescoes. They just never were here. It looks like a workspace.
Shooting from this angle, you feel the movement of goosebumps (energy) all over your skin. A friend, standing in my place, confirmed my feelings. In order not to injure the feelings of our pious watchman guide, I did not climb to check. He guarded this church until restoration. These beams have always been. It can be seen that the structure was strengthened. The old "screed" passes behind the beam. If this is a busbar, can you imagine how many times the load was increased? That's why the system took off in 1868.
