For three centuries, codebreakers, and with them the occultists, have been fighting over the secret of a mysterious note stored in the Sicilian monastery of Palma di Montechiaro. The history of this document begins in the distant 1676, when on August 11 the Benedictine nun Maria Krochifissa, waking up from a swoon, found in front of her a sheet of paper covered with incomprehensible letters. She recognized her handwriting, but she was determinedly unable to remember under what circumstances she wrote these lines.

At that time, such a thing could take a serious turn for the entire monastery, and the Mother Superior got involved in the situation. According to the results of the investigation, it was found that Sister Mary, being possessed, wrote a mysterious note under the dictation of the devil, who wanted to turn her away from the true faith. This is how the document known as the "letter of Lucifer" appeared in a Sicilian monastery.

It was possible to decipher this mysterious message of the dark forces quite recently, and with the help of sophisticated software. According to scientists, in order to decipher the "letter", they needed to load several alphabets into the decoder, including the runic and the Yezidi (Yezidis: Kurdish fire-worshipers). The algorithm first selected similar characters and then compared them with the alphabets loaded into the program. As a result of this work, the researchers were able to decipher most of the message, where, as it turned out, it was about the relationship of people with God and the devil. Specifically, it said that "God thinks he can free mortals, it doesn't work for anyone." In addition, the "letter" stated that God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit were "a useless burden."

Actually, the message itself is not some kind of revelation, another thing is interesting: who or what is behind the appearance of this opus. Official science, standing guard over our fragile psyche, as usual, hastily riveted the version that Sister Maria possessed remarkable knowledge in linguistics, and the fact that she was scribbling disgusting messages is explained by the “stress of monastic life” or “bipolar disorder” (read: multiple personality disorder). The version is certainly rich, only there is one small “but”: the researchers themselves admit that the symbols are well structured, as if they were developed deliberately. It was this fact that made it necessary to draw mental ailments into the scientific explanation of the phenomenon.

We will probably never know whose evil will directed Sister Maria, but it is noteworthy that the “letter” was suspiciously well coded, since no one could decipher it before the advent of computer technology.
