If Andy Rae (32) does not see his wife Joe (34) and daughter Chloe (3) for only two days, he will no longer recognize them. Andy doesn't remember his childhood, his wedding day, the day his child was born, or who his parents were
He doesn't remember anything that happened more than 48 hours ago.
Andy once worked as a police officer. In one of the shifts, in front of his eyes, a teenager committed suicide. This shocked the man so much that he went to the hospital. When Andy woke up, he realized that he did not remember anything at all. Now he must carry a piece of paper with him at all times, on which his name and address are written.
- As long as people stay with me, I understand who it is. But after two days my memory is clear again. And if I had not seen my wife for more than 48 hours, I would have walked past her on the street,”says the man. But nevertheless he knows how to drive a car, remembers historical facts, but does not remember those moments of school life when he taught it.
- I love him very much. But it was very difficult to understand that 13 years of our life together are erased from his memory, says Joe. - Andy had to love me again. For six months we only held hands so that he could get used to me.
Now Andy writes his whole life in a diary. He pastes photographs there and signs people on them.
Joe admits that the first notes made her very upset, because it was clear that her husband really forgot everything.
- Today I met a little girl named Chloe. They say she is my daughter, - wrote Andy. - She smiles so much that makes me feel happy.
On another occasion he wrote, “This woman came again today, Joe. She is very beautiful and pleasant, but I don't remember the things she tells me about."
Now the family is literally trying not to let each other out of sight, because Joe and Andy know how easy it is to lose their happiness.
