Interview with Tatyana Viktorovna Makarova, regressologist, researcher of anomalous phenomena, head of the public research organization "Togliatti Ufological Commission", full member of the Academy of Informationological and Applied Ufology, member of the Russian Geographical Society. The interview was conducted in preparation for the "Unknown" conference (September 29-30, Moscow).
- Tatiana Viktorovna, hello. You are a unique person because you specialize in regressology and combine this with ufology. Please tell us how you came to this?
- Both of these directions have a similar goal - to reveal secrets. For ufology, these are the secrets of the surrounding world, for regression search - the secrets of the human soul, the secrets of the personal and historical past. In a sense, the focus of both of these directions is a person who has some information about himself and about the world around him, who has received some kind of everyday experience (no matter, in his personal past or in an abnormal situation).
This information does not always lie on the surface. For example, people who have experienced a UFO abduction often have their memory of the details of the abduction blocked. But the methods of working in altered states of consciousness allow one to gain access to the memories that the eyewitness has, but for various reasons, "as if forgotten," that is, hidden from consciousness. I would like to clarify that altered states of consciousness only make it possible to eliminate the effect of filters restricting access to information.
One day many years ago, my colleagues and I tried to apply the "soft trance" technique to one of our contactees, in order to establish the details of his events. This technique has proven to be very effective. By the way, further work in this direction showed that in the memory of many ordinary people there is a hidden experience of their personal participation in various anomalous events that are not only ufological in nature.
The qualified use of trance techniques can make it possible to be convinced of the multi-layered meaning and diversity of the phenomenon that appears to us in the form of interaction with “aliens from outside the Earth” (more precisely, to single out that part of it, which, in fact, is interaction with aliens). It also allows you to get rid of illusions.
- What is the main purpose of regression?
- In my opinion, the main goal is to obtain information about the details and details of events that for some reason are forgotten. Why is this happening - by virtue of the laws of human physiology or under the influence of an alien will, this is already a secondary question. But how to use the knowledge gained - for good or vice versa, it already depends on the skill of the regression leader.

- What exactly does regression “open the eyes” of a person?
- Nobody comes to a regression search session just like that. Even if a person says that simple curiosity became his motive, then in the course of working with a person a completely different reason is revealed. It may be an intuitively felt, but not yet conscious desire to work through an old psychotrauma and get rid of its consequences.
A visit to a regressologist can be the next step on the path of personal growth, if the person's personality is already ready to ask himself direct questions, give frank answers to them and, most importantly, understand in which direction to move on.
It may be a desire to know the world in those details that are not yet available for study in conventional ways. After all, we cannot revive historical antiquities, we cannot yet fly to other planets.
- Many of our readers probably remember films about the abduction of people by aliens and how, after returning, experts put them into a state of hypnosis, help restore memory. It turns out that you are just such a specialist?
- It turns out that this is so, but only with some clarification - I do not use deep hypnosis with a loss of consciousness, both for technical reasons and for ethical reasons.
- How often do you have to deal with such cases?
- Recently I have to study more and more often. And I regret that I did not own such technology before - how much more useful information could be obtained …
- Can you give an example of such a case from life?
- Several investigated cases are given in my book Mission Earth. Memory of the cosmic past of mankind”. It was recently published by Stigmarion Publishing House. I will talk about others at the "Unknown" conference on September 29th this year.
In short, I can tell you about this case. One of my clients contacted in an attempt to establish whether there were real reasons for the event, which seemed to her only a vivid dream. She seemed to dream that at night some invisible force brought her out into the courtyard of her parents' village house and began to forcibly lift her into the air. She actively resisted (I must say that this behavior is rarely found in abductions). That was where the dream images ended.
In the course of the investigation of the situation, several important additional circumstances were revealed that characterize this event (in particular, the completely real, not dreamlike nature of the event, as well as the fact that the girl was repeatedly subjected to similar procedures).
But the most important thing in this investigation was the therapeutic effect. After completing certain procedures under the guidance of the regression leader, she broke off all relations with her counterparties. From that moment on, her fear, which had bothered her for several decades, completely disappeared. This effect is not unique, it has been achieved in other situations with other people.
- Do special services turn to you for help?
- In open mode - no, they do not apply.
- Can regression help in other situations, when faced with something "abnormal"?
- Of course it can. We've investigated poltergeist cases, lost time cases. I had a chance to work with eyewitnesses of the so-called "English circles" (abnormal falls in the fields). An eyewitness or participant in an event has every opportunity to objectify important characteristics of the phenomenon if a qualified specialist works competently and correctly with him.
- What would you recommend to those who have been kidnapped or faced with the unknown?
- First of all, don't panic. Emotions in such situations do not help, but often harm. It is advisable to try to notice (and then write down) all the details of the event, even the smallest and, at first glance, insignificant. And then find a researcher who will help not only to understand the essence of what happened, but also, if necessary, to neutralize the consequences of a collision with the unknown.
- Regressology is not yet an official science. What do you think needs to happen for this to change?
Time needs to pass. Experience and facts must be accumulated. But, I think, something else is important - if the technique of regression search helps people find answers to their questions and eliminate problems, then it does not matter at all whether regressology is accepted into the camp of academic science, or remains an effective, albeit non-canonical practice.
