In a private home in New Delhi, police found the bodies of 11 people, all members of the same family. Bodies were hung from the ceiling beams on ropes, people probably committed suicide by hanging.

The bodies of four men and seven women were found. There were no other traces of violence other than strangulation on the bodies.

After that, numerous notes with strange texts were found in the house. One of them read "The human body is a temporary haven and everyone can overcome fear by closing their eyes and mouth."

On the basis of these records, the police concluded that a collective ritual suicide was committed here "for the sake of the salvation of their souls."

In one of the rooms, 10 bodies were found: 50-year-old Bhavnesh Bhatia and his 45-year-old brother Lalit Bhatia, their wives 48-year-old Savita Bhatia and 42-year-old Tina Bhatia, other women were 57-year-old Pratibha, 33-year-old Priyanka, Nitu, 25, and Manu, 23. Next to him were 15-year-old boys Dhruv and Shivam. Narayana Devi's 77-year-old grandmother was hanging in another room.

Everyone, except for the grandmother, had their mouths, eyes, and also hands and feet sealed with duct tape.

According to the police, all the notes say that you can get rid of all problems if you save yourself. The scraps also contained descriptions of how to bind hands and feet and glue the eyes.

Initially, there was a version of a murder, but traces of a burglary in the house were not found, as well as traces of violence on the bodies of the dead. All neighbors and relatives interviewed stated that the Bhatia family did not have financial problems and they lived quite well.

“They were doing well. I don't understand why they killed themselves,”said one of the respondents.

A large family has lived in this house for over 20 years. The head of the family, the eldest of the brothers, was in business and sold plywood and dairy products. Now the police continue to investigate this strange incident.
