Every person in life has come across something that he could not explain. But are there really phenomena that defy logic in principle? They are called differently, captured in photos and videos, studied by pseudo-scientists, but they still cannot prove their existence. But there are also events that have not yet been able to explain - or did not want to, so as not to cause hysteria among the people.

Classification of the paranormal

Many people who study anomalous phenomena are unable to piece them together. Essentially, there is no general science or pseudo-science that deals with the study of everything beyond knowledge. Scientists in various fields often refute the "abnormality" of cases - physicists, chemists and psychologists.

If you try to divide the inexplicable into groups, then you can adhere to this classification. The first include the so-called superstitions and things bordering on occultism: luck from the hare's foot, conspiracies, Friday the thirteenth, and so on. They are, most often, based on religious beliefs, including ancient ones. But religion, unlike science, adheres to constant beliefs about all situations, in connection with which once, perhaps, there were prerequisites to believe in superstition - now there is no common sense, more often than not. But many can be useful for your own safety - for example, you should not eat with a knife (because you will cut yourself, not because you will be angry), and you should be wary of intersections - especially with poor visibility for drivers.

Similar to superstition - paranormal patterns. These include various spheres of pseudoscience: palmistry, astrology, numerology, fortune-telling. They, like superstitions, do not appear out of nothing, but they also belong to unknown phenomena.

There are also paranormal forces. Science knows many real inexplicable skills and abilities of people, but a number of them are still perceived as fiction - magic, telekinesis, predictions.

There are (according to parapsychologists) and paranormal entities - "terrestrial" (ghosts, spirits and poltergeists), and extraterrestrial (aliens). In the unofficial classification, they go together, but, as mediums and ufologists explain, they have completely different natures.

Scientific rebuttals

Although many continue to believe in almost all paranormal phenomena, science has long been able to refute some of them. In particular, scientists have identified the main reasons why "ghosts appear", demon-possessed people and many other fantastic things.

Science has several explanations for ghosts. The most commonplace is a draft - it is for these reasons that a chill "runs through" in certain places of the house, and especially through the chimney and ventilation of old houses. In addition, every object in the house has its own temperature, which can lead to the feeling of "cold breath".

Electrical stimulation of the brain, which can be accidentally caused by a problem with wiring or static electricity, causes hallucinations in the form of shadows. For the first time, scientists from Switzerland spoke about this, who stimulated the brain of a patient with schizophrenia - she told how she saw a shadow behind her sitting on a chair, which repeated her movements.

Ouija sessions using the Ouija board (with letters and numbers) are often accompanied by an ideomotor effect - uncontrolled movement of body muscles due to nervous tension.

A scientist from Great Britain, Vic Tandy, once proved that infrasound causes hallucinations. Moreover, such a sound phenomenon can occur during a thunderstorm, as well as due to household appliances. But ophthalmologist William Wilmer proved in 1921 that one of the reasons for the appearance of haunted houses is carbon monoxide poisoning.

The obsession can be attributed to both poisoning and stress. Also, scientists do not exclude such a phenomenon as the presence of several personalities in one body - while such a deviation may not appear for decades.

Real paranormal activity

Although scientists try to explain everything, some phenomena are still outside the realm of science. They are called differently - mysticism, anomaly, messages from heaven - but so far they have not been able to find the cause.

One of the most famous paranormal sites is the Bermuda Triangle. "Officially" about 40 ships and aircraft were missing there. The rest of the victims, experts explain, are far-fetched - someone disappeared elsewhere, and someone sank due to real problems with the weather or equipment.

Scientists have suggested several reasons why ships disappear in the Bermuda Triangle: infrasound, which causes hallucinations in the crew, gas that rushes to the surface and changes the density of the water and wandering waves. Other hypotheses say that there could be Atlantis, and real underwater inhabitants are not happy when ships and planes pass over their territory. There is also speculation about magnetic anomalies that can be caused by a meteorite at the bottom, aliens or other unknown things - right up to the gates to Hell.

The Devil's Footprints in Devon is another phenomenon that has not yet been explained. According to historical reports, in February 1855 in England, near the city of Devon, hoof prints measuring 10 cm were found. They led from Exmouth to Topsham and across the Aix estuary - this is about 10 miles. It is not known where they came from, but ended in a vacant lot and abruptly - as if someone had flown away. That night there was a heavy snowfall, not a single artiodactyl in such conditions could have covered such a long distance.

The incident caused a real hysteria. Many scientists and historians became interested in this phenomenon, came to the city and communicated with eyewitnesses. Who left the hoof tracks is unknown, but so far the researchers have not been able to prove or disprove that the Devil himself walked near Devon that night.

The phenomenon of apport is also considered controversial. Today, by the way, the term is not so often used and is considered (in parapsychology) that it refers to the manifestation of a poltergeist.

Apport is the sudden appearance of objects in unusual places. They describe it as a departure from the gaze - for something to appear out of nowhere, this “from nowhere” should not be seen. One of the most famous women who know how to carry out such manipulations was a certain medium Mrs. Guppy. Eyewitnesses report that she took a tray, on which she put a scarf, and then "took orders." Basically, these were flowers - roses, sunflowers, daisies. Mrs. Guppy gave an unknown command, and after a while a flower conceived by a man appeared "out of nowhere". Newspapers wrote about this unique skill, hundreds of people came to the sessions, but there is still no explanation for the apport.

Paranormal places in Russia

In Russia, as in the whole world, there are paranormal places. In particular, the city of Arkaim in the Chelyabinsk region. It is oriented by the stars, and each building there corresponds to the location of the heavenly body. On the hills in Arkaim, desires come true, but there are also accidents - some people go crazy from such miracles.

The next place is the Molebsky Triangle, on the borders of the Perm and Sverdlovsk regions. Today, ufologists mark the appearance of UFOs there, and historians report that the Mansi people used to make sacrifices here earlier. Researchers also report that clocks and compasses break here, devices are discharged and strange things happen with transport.

The drunken forest in the Kaliningrad region is also a place where fans of the paranormal try to get to. Unlike other territories, everything here is quite peaceful, but unusual - all the trees are strangely twisted. It is believed that unusual flora can grant wishes.
