It is known that the engineers of the Westinghouse company developed the wonderful machine. Of course, it is best known as a large American electrical engineering company. But, founded in 1886, at various times it produced rifles, and pneumatic brakes for railway, and much more.
"Tractor tank", the company positioned as maneuverable, just like a military tank and equipped with an "endless tread" - a caterpillar. The mechanism was adapted to carry a built-in welding machine and could deliver the welding equipment directly to the place where it was needed for the repair of the railway.
A four and a half meter car could move on rails, pass along slopes with a steepness of up to forty-five degrees without overturning, and climb an inclined plane onto the body of another machine, which would transport the miracle mechanism after the work on repairing damaged railways was completed or worn out arrows.
The "tractor tank" was equipped with a powerful gasoline engine, which not only allowed the device to move, but also set in motion a dynamo (generator) that supplied current to the welding equipment.
For 1933, the car looked very impressive. Apparently, even if this device was made, it was in a very limited batch, or even in a single copy.
