Often, archaeological finds need to be looked for not only by digging in deep caves and tearing apart huge layers of rock, but also climbing to a bird's eye view. After all, there are artifacts that are invisible from the ground, for example, like the famous geoglyphs of the Nazca plateau. In this article, I want to tell you about some rather curious signs that were found at the bottom of the Aral Sea.

The retreating Aral Sea in 1991 during aerial photography of the area by the workers of the Research Institute of Hydrometeorology of Kazakhstan discovered strange patterns.

They are spread over an area of 500 square kilometers. The width of each of the lines is quite significant and varies from 2 to 5 meters, and the patterns formed by these lines reach several kilometers in size.

The repeating patterns clearly make it clear that this cannot be a simple game of mother nature, and some researchers, upon seeing them for the first time, stated that it could be a giant letter.

Geographically, these lines are located not only at the bottom of the former Aral Sea, but also go beyond it, to the coastal part.

Experts from various fields were involved in the study of this find, and the first conclusion they made was that these stripes cannot be traces of modern civilization. That is, these are not traces of civilian or military equipment.

It is also not the result of natural phenomena like a tornado, tornado or underwater currents. And who could have drawn these signs, there is not even a guess. The same uncertain situation is with dating. Initially, it was assumed that the "patterns" are no more than 300 - 500 years old, but the longer the study was carried out, the further the date of creation of the drawings shifted and now the time of creation varies from 300 years to several millennia.

The most surprising and most understood symbol is the directional arrow.

Unfortunately, full-scale studies of these formations have not been carried out until now, which means where the giant arrow points and what the other symbols mean and whether they mean anything at all remains a mystery.
