The cape is located in a conservation area, on the northwestern shore of Lake Baikal, at its widest part. The place is forbidden to visit, and, moreover, the restrictions imposed by the modern government have nothing to do with the belief that "wrathful spirits" live here. Even in ancient times, the locals realized that walking along the cape, along the Rita track (accent on a) is a dangerous event. This is how myths and legends appeared, forbidding not only women, but also shamans to explore the territory.

Such prohibitions never arose for no reason: people felt weakness, headaches, heaviness and body aches, as a result - sudden death. The gorge is all dug by mudflows, boulders are scattered everywhere, on which lightning strikes regularly, as if drawn by an unknown force. They tried to explain the phenomena by the presence of unfriendly gods. Also, they said that in the place where the Rita River goes underground to reappear, merging with Lake Baikal, there is an entrance to the world of the dead. Rites of sacrifice were widespread here - people believed that in this way they could keep the angry gods in their place of residence, appease them.
It is noteworthy that rumors about the anomalousness of Cape Ryty are still confirmed: it is not easy to obtain permission to visit; however, Ryty is visited by fans of anomalous phenomena and ordinary tourists every year. The stories they tell on their blogs are filled with colorful descriptions of not only the beauty of the untouched nature of this rugged area, but also the strange sensations that arise here. Both new and proven equipment breaks down, the photographic equipment is naughty: space is curved in photographs, defects appear.

Repeatedly, because of this, the cape was checked for radiation - people get sick for years after being in the Rita River gorge or on the slopes of a hill. It has been established that Ryty is a powerful geoactive zone with a negative impact on humans. This is a seismically active zone. But there is no strong radiation exceeding the norm.
Why do even some serious scientists always visit a shaman before going to the cape? They ask his permission and want to learn how to placate spirits. The problem is that, if there were gods here, now they are even more embittered by human ignorance. You enter their territory - bring food. Shamans advise making an offering at the last pine tree on the way to the cape. Ask for forgiveness, apologize. But, if God appears in the form of a wolf or a bear, do not expect mercy.
Local shepherds spread rumors about flying balls, strange lights that hide behind the rocks. Ships passing by note that the instruments always fail opposite Cape Ryty. Being here for more than 8 hours can be fatal for a person.

There is no exact indication of the reasons for the strange phenomena yet. Only descriptions of eyewitnesses who unanimously speak about the severity of being in this area, that Ryty, although an interesting place for a researcher and traveler, is no longer going there.
