In October 1943, at the harbor of the Philadelphia military shipyard, experiments were carried out to conceal the destroyer Eldridge. It was supposed to create a powerful electromagnetic field that will surround the ship and make it difficult to detect. But things didn't go according to plan.
The dire consequences of the experiment
Experiment observers said that the ship was enveloped in a strange green fog, after which it disappeared from radar.
When the experiment was completed, witnesses and instruments saw the destroyer again.
But something terrible was happening on board the ship. Some of the sailors died, some went crazy, and some simply disappeared without a trace. Of the 181 crew members, only 20 remained safe and sound. Work on the "Rainbow" project was hastily completed.
