Most recently, almost all media outlets interested in technology have published materials about the Eavor-Loop project. Why is he so interested in scientists and journalists? Let's try to figure it out. So, Eavor-Loop is a geothermal station project that is conceptually different from those previously developed. And according to experts, the project is a small revolution in the production of geothermal energy.

It is known that this energy is renewable, generated from the bowels of the Earth. It should be said the same about ecology (the creators of the station are pushing especially for this): for the functioning of the Eavor-Loop it does not require water, since it is replaced by a special, patented liquid. During operation, the station will not emit harmful substances, including greenhouse gases.

According to the president of Eavor Technologies (developers of the Eavor-Loop geothermal station), during the development of the project, they rethought a lot of traditional components and solutions in an unconventional way, and received a unit that uses an unusual well shape, but whose thermodynamic efficiency is significantly higher.

The Eavor-Loop Demonstration Project in Alberta, Canada involves drilling, connecting and sealing a closed-loop geothermal system, which consists of two vertical wells laterally connected at a depth of approximately 2,400 m. The goal of this project is to demonstrate the technical feasibility of creating a closed-loop system for geothermal systems.

Among the features and advantages of the installation, which this project should demonstrate and prove, the developers attribute the moment that their technology can be applied almost everywhere - if today the percentage of the Earth's area where it is possible to "extract" geothermal energy is five, then in the case of using Eavor -Loop it makes up eighty percent of the world's territory.

According to the press service of the company, well drilling has already begun, and the project should be completed by the end of the year.
