Journalists in India found a cheerful 75-year-old woman who swears that since the age of 15 she does not take solid food, but only drinks tea and water.

Once a week she allows herself to eat one soft banana and that's it. For 60 years, according to her, she has not eaten a single rice and nothing meat.

The woman's name is Saraswati Bai and she lives in the village of Sandrail, Madhya Pradesh. Until the age of 15, according to Saraswati, she ate like everyone else, but then she caught some kind of infection and her stomach began to hurt badly. Because of these pains, Saraswati stopped taking solid food and her condition suddenly improved immediately.

After that Saraswati drank only tea and sometimes water. Her appetite and desire to eat never returned to her. The worried parents of her young husband, in whose family Saraswati lived after her recent marriage, tried to persuade her to start eating, but to no avail.

Since then, Saraswati has lived on practically the same tea and water and she really likes this life. She does not experience health problems despite her already venerable age, and her husband's repeated efforts to feed her with food were also useless.

Saraswati says she is full of energy, always cheerful, and works 5 hours a day in her garden.

After an article about this amazing woman appeared in local newspapers, many people were skeptical about the phenomenon. However, all the inhabitants of the village where Saraswati lives confirm that everything is so.

Maandra Patidar, one of Saraswati's sons, says that it was difficult for everyone in the family to get used to his mother's unusual food tradition. He also remembers many of his father's attempts to feed his mother solid food, but when everyone realized that the woman was vigorous and strong despite eating only tea and water, they left her behind.

Saraswati does not eat more than once a week, but this is just one soft banana. She never wanted more in 60 years.
