Saparman Sodimejo, better known as Mbah Gotho, died on the Indonesian island of Java at the age of 146. He is considered the oldest man on Earth, reports the BBC, but this status was not officially assigned to him.
Goto was taken to hospital on April 12 with complaints of deteriorating health. However, six days later, he demanded to be returned home. The grandson of the long-liver said that since then he ate only a spoonful of porridge and drank a little.
Goto's age cannot be established for certain, since he was born before 1900. It was during this time that birth control began in Indonesia. However, according to a certificate obtained in 2014, Goto was born on December 31, 1870. It is noted that all his life he was a heavy smoker, and “love” helped him to live so many years.
During this time, he survived four wives, 10 brothers and sisters, and all of his children. His grandson said that Sodimenjo was buried on Monday, May 1, in the cemetery, where the place was bought several years ago.
