Ufological situation
Ufology in Mexico has come full circle and back to the beginning. It was here that the first known photograph of a strange object in the sky was taken more than 100 years ago, and then, against the background of incredible ufological activity in South America, a period of relative calm began in Mexico, which lasted until 1991. This year saw a major wave, which sparked such intense public interest that countless TV shows and tabloid headlines flashed before the eyes of viewers. Journalist Jaime Mossan, who has become the most famous mouthpiece of the ufological community, has toured the world with a series of lectures on the evidence he found. Mexican belief in contact with aliens is very strong, although only a few such cases have been reported in the country. Not much is known about official investigations either.conducted by the Mexican government, although there was a period of active collaboration with the newly formed American UFO group in 1948, when rockets launched from New Mexico veered off course and exploded in a cemetery across the border. This incident soon began to be associated with a UFO crash that occurred during the same period in Mexico, after which the Mexican government allegedly allowed a US Air Force research team to cross the border to collect the remains and send them to the American military Wright-Patterson airbase.during the same period in Mexico, after which the Mexican government allegedly allowed a US Air Force research team to cross the border to collect the remains and send them to the American military airbase Wright-Patterson.during the same period in Mexico, after which the Mexican government allegedly allowed the US Air Force research team to cross the border to collect the remains and send them to the American military air base Wright-Patterson.
Contacts
In 1883, an astronomer working at the Zacatecas Observatory took a photograph of an array of black objects against the backdrop of the solar disk. This is the only known photograph of a UFO taken in the 19th century. In the early 1950s, there were a number of reports of little people, but the number of unusual sightings was much lower than in countries such as Argentina and Brazil. In addition, there have been no known cases of abductions, as has happened in other countries. We can say that a ufological siesta has come in Mexico, although noteworthy cases have been occasionally noted. For example, in May 1975, a private jet pilot Carlos Montiel experienced close contact with a small gray disk that approached his plane over Mexico City. A dangerous encounter was recorded at the ground air traffic control center.
Subsequently, Carlos was one of the few eyewitnesses in South America who claimed that he was threatened by mysterious people in black. One day, on his way to Mexico City, he was stopped by men in a black car and warned not to appear in the television studio where he was driving to tell millions of viewers about the incident.
The apogee of ufological activity in Mexico came in 1991, when a solar eclipse occurred, and thousands of people assured journalists that they had seen a slowly moving silver disk in the sky. Several amateur videotapes were made that generated widespread interest, and commercial videotapes of the events were sold worldwide. In fact, in most cases, eyewitnesses most likely observed bright stars and planets, as well as a meteostat, which suddenly became visible against the background of a darkened daytime sky. Jaime Mossan collected hundreds of eyewitness footage; some of them are of interest to ufologists, although most lend themselves to rational explanation. Filming of the most striking case was obtained from an anonymous source in August 1997; a huge disc is visible on the tape, soaring in broad daylight over the skyscrapers of Mexico City. The image is so believable that we are talking either about irrefutable proof of the presence of an alien apparatus, or about a perfectly compiled computer simulation. Many signs make one lean towards the second version, among which not the least is the fact that not one of the millions of residents scurrying through the city streets under a flying disc paid attention to this amazing sight.scurrying through the streets of the city under the flying disc, did not pay attention to this amazing sight.scurrying through the streets of the city under the flying disc, did not pay attention to this amazing sight.

Waves and special zones
Contrary to the picture typical for most other pages, most of the observations made in Mexico fall on the immediate vicinity of the country's largest city, Mexico City. In general, in ufology, there is an inverse relationship and the largest number of contacts falls on the least populated areas. Relatively small waves were noted in 1950 and 1965, followed by the largest wave in 1991.
