Australian scientists have breathed life into an animal that went extinct thirty years ago. This is the so-called caring frog, its halo is Australia.
“Our project is named Lazarus, in honor of the Biblical character who was revived by Christ. It is incredible that it succeeded, until now no one has done anything like this,”says Mike Archer, professor at the University of New South Wales.
Unfortunately, none of the caring frogs survived for more than a few days, but genetic tests showed that this is indeed an extinct animal.
“We have created the technology and the means to achieve our goal. We will improve our project and this is insurance for the species that are in the red book. If you take DNA, they can be saved,”says Newcastle University professor John Clulow.
In addition, scientists are planning to soon reproduce the Hollywood movie "Jurassic Park" - they will revive mammoths and dinosaurs. However, the problem is that DNA of prehistoric animals has not yet been found.
However, scientists have found out that the chicken is a descendant of a dinosaur and has its DNA. Therefore, now they are trying to wake up sleeping gene information. The chicken embryo has saber-toothed jaws and a large tail with scales. And thanks to experiments, scientists do not exclude the appearance of dinosaurs on Earth, 70 million years after extinction.
