Video: Why is Project HAARP so controversial? 2024, September

The ionosphere is located at an altitude of fifty kilometers and higher from the Earth's surface. It is a shield that protects the planet from radiation from space. The ionosphere is saturated with ions and free electrons. Everyone knows this from the course of the school curriculum. Does the state of the ionosphere affect the climate? Of course, the influence is strong enough to investigate. And try to use.

Many have heard of the HAARP complex, built in the United States as part of a comprehensive study of the Earth's ionosphere: from studies of auroras to the possibility of influencing the ionosphere, in order to improve air and missile defense systems. Often in the press, the complex was attributed to the fantastic properties of the operating "climatic weapon".

It should be said here that HAARP is not the only such complex. The most powerful and famous are the Norwegian EISCAT and SPEAR, and the Puerto Rican HIPAS. But the interesting thing is that in Russia there is one! And if the Americans launched HAARP only in 1997, then the construction of the Sura radio complex, begun in the 70s of the 20th century, ended in 1981.

"Sura" is located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, not far from Vasilsursk. The complex consists of several utility buildings, a transformer substation, a water pumping station, a main building, and PPADD antennas. The "stuffing" of the complex is three short-wave radio transmitters PKV-250 (operating range from four to twenty-five MHz, power of two hundred and fifty kW each). An antenna array consisting of three sections of one hundred and four dipole antennas (DPADD) measuring three hundred by three hundred meters, with a frequency band from four and a half to nine and a half MHz (in the middle band, the gain at the zenith is twenty-six dB). ERP effective radiated power - one hundred and ninety MW.

Today, HAARP has a greater capacity (about 4.8 MW), and it is located more successfully than Sura - in the polar latitudes. But the set "official" tasks for the complexes are the same: the study of the ionosphere and the upper layers of the atmosphere, control over the propagation of radio waves, attempts to influence the characteristics and parameters of the ionosphere using radio waves, astro research, etc.

Once a secret facility, Sura was built under the supervision of the USSR Ministry of Defense. "Rumors" that this "Russian climatic weapon" did not arise, of course, from scratch - the complex (like HAARP) is capable of "heating" a section of the ionosphere, creating plasmoids ("clots" of magnetic fields and plasma).

Having received a large-sized plasmoid, the Sura is able to obtain a kind of lens for radio beams, which can absorb or reflect radio radiation in the desired direction. Potentially, this is damage to electronics and even the possibility of influencing a person as an enemy in hostilities.

At the very beginning, when the Sura complex was used very actively, eyewitnesses observed incomprehensible phenomena in the sky: moving balls hovering over emitters and antennas, anomalous glow, etc. This is not explained by "aliens", but by the operation of the complex and the formation of those very plasmoids. All this also gave food to rumors.

Officially, there are no "military" and "combat" missions for Sura. The development of "climate weapons" is prohibited by the 1997 UN Convention on the Prohibition of Hostile Effects on the Environment. HAARP executives also deny any rumors about "climate weapons". Scientists working at the complexes say that none of the existing installations will have enough power to seriously affect the ionosphere.

One thing can be said with certainty - even if "Sura" is a "climate weapon" no one will officially tell about it. The same can be said for HAARP. But scientific work on the study of the ionosphere and the results obtained with this unique equipment (the Getmantsev effect discovered on the Sura, for example, influenced the study of the ionosphere all over the world) allow us to speak of the complex as a significant scientific object, which, unfortunately, in our time is in a deplorable state.

HAARP gets excellent funding every year, and Sura, with only 100 hours of work a year, barely makes ends meet - there is no money even to protect the territory. Let's imagine, for just a second, that all the rumors about "climate weapons" are true. Will we not lose, with such "attention" to the unique "Sura", the battle for the ionosphere?
