Video: Why Harvard Scientists Think This Object Is An Alien Spacecraft 2024, November

The mysterious interstellar asteroid Oumuamua may be a giant solar sail craft that was sent by an extraterrestrial civilization to search for life in other systems.

Asteroid Oumuamua arrived in our solar system in October 2017 and immediately caught the attention of scientists with its strange trajectory and changing speed, and in October 2018, scientists could not find it in the place where it was supposed to be.

However, Oumuamua still continues to haunt the minds of researchers. Including the other day, astronomers from the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (ACF) analyzed the strange cigar shape of the object, as well as a sharp increase in its speed and a shift in the trajectory.

And then they came to an unexpected conclusion, saying that Oumuamua is probably a huge solar sail of artificial origin. In their opinion, the sudden acceleration of an object as it entered our solar system is probably caused by the impact of the light from our sun. Previously it was assumed that the acceleration was to blame for the gas that came out of the asteroid, but Harvard astronomers say that if it were gas, it would cause the asteroid to spin.

A solar sail is a device that collects sunlight on its surface and, due to it, propels a vehicle in outer space. That is, exactly like a sail drives a boat, relying on the strength of the wind.

According to one of the researchers, Professor Abraham Loeb, even with a solar sail, Oumuamua may just be "advanced space alien debris." But another version of them does not exclude that Oumuamua is a controlled probe, deliberately sent by an extraterrestrial civilization into our solar system to observe the Earth.

The Harvard scientists have a third version. Since the object is not emitting any signals, it may be an alien ship that has suffered a "space shipwreck".

Earlier, the same Professor Loeb had already expressed his opinion in favor of the alien version. In Scientific American magazine at the end of September 2018, he wrote that "Oumuamua may be the first known case of an artificial artifact that has arrived in our solar system from interstellar space."

Moreover, Loeb in the same place made an amazing comment that it is time to introduce space archeology into science, which will investigate the relics of other civilizations that have fallen into our system.
