A luminous long UFO was photographed on December 15, 2016 in the sky over the city of San Carlos, located in central Venezuela in the state of Cojedes.
An eyewitness, who introduced himself as William Escobar, said that he was working after 6 pm in the garage of his house when he noticed Venus shining in the sky. He took his cell phone to take pictures of this extraordinary scene.
“I was into astronomy and wanted to take a picture of Venus, which was very bright that evening,” said William. But, while he was holding the phone pointed towards the sky, several strange flashes appeared at some distance from Venus, which attracted his attention.
William realized that this was something out of the ordinary, so he saw with his own eyes the rapid movement of an object, and immediately wondered if it seemed to him. Later, when reviewing the resulting images, William Escobar discovered an opaque, almost invisible object.
It is worth noting that between 13 and 14 December 2017, the Earth entered a stream of gravel debris from Comet 3200 Phaethon, which is the source of the brightest annual Geminid meteor shower. Could the object in the Venezuelan photograph be one of the meteors?
Looking at the Sideribus Astrophotography Guide, which offers a classification of lights in the sky, a meteor trail is usually "conical, tapering at the end." However, the object that appeared that evening over San Carlos has a symmetrical shape and the same thickness along its entire length.
In addition, unlike the meteor trail, the luminous UFO photographed by William flashed and disappeared several times. Even ufologists are currently unable to answer the question whether it was a UFO, a meteor, cosmic dust or space debris.
