Then I read another article. There, too, about the fact that we are feeble-minded. As they say, oh! time! about! morals! Let's agree so - I will not think that readers are feeble-minded, and readers will not consider me feeble-minded. I assure you that this point of view has much more prospects than the one that the aliens have taken - they are friends of my competitors.

It may even be that these were not extraterrestrials at all, but some kind of ballonsters … reptilian trolls … Normal aliens, as far as I understand, think of us much better than we do of them. However, let's not go too deep into this slippery topic. When we start drinking with them for brotherhood, then it's another matter.

1. To begin with, a summary of all the available information about this signal

Signal "Wow!" (translated from English - "Wow!"), in Russian publications - "signal" Wow! " - a strong narrowband radio signal recorded by Jerry Eiman on August 15, 1977 during his work on the Big Ear radio telescope at the State University Ohio. Listening to radio signals was carried out as part of the SETI project.

The signal characteristics (transmission bandwidth, signal-to-noise ratio) were in line with those theoretically expected from a signal of extraterrestrial origin.

Amazed at how closely the characteristics of the received signal matched the expected characteristics of the interstellar signal, Eiman circled the corresponding group of characters on the printout and signed the side "Wow!" ("Wow!"). This signature gave the name to the signal.

The Big Ear radio telescope did not have a movable receiving antenna and used the rotation of the Earth to scan the sky. Taking into account the angular velocity of this rotation and the limited width of the antenna's receiving area, a certain point in the sky could be observed for exactly 72 seconds.

An extraterrestrial signal, constant in amplitude, should be observed precisely for 72 seconds, while the first 36 seconds its intensity should gradually increase - until the telescope is aimed exactly at its source - and then another 36 seconds should also gradually decrease as how the rotation of the Earth takes the listened point of the celestial sphere out of the reception zone.

Thus, both the duration of the “wow” signal (72 seconds) and the shape of the graph of its intensity over time correspond to the expected characteristics of the extraterrestrial signal.

All further repeated attempts to detect this signal ended in vain. And they were undertaken up to 1999 by different researchers using much more sensitive equipment than the Big Ear.

Various methods for determining the signal frequency gave two values: 1420.356 MHz (JD Kraus) and 1420.456 MHz (JR Ehman), both within 50 kHz of the neutral hydrogen radio frequency (1420.406 MHz, or 21 cm.)

2. A small historical excursion

Before proceeding to deciphering, we must at least briefly remind the reader of this story. On August 20, 1975, the Viking 1 spacecraft was launched to Mars from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and on September 9, 1975, Viking 2 went to Mars. This is just an ordinary hill on Mars, which to people prone to illusions seems to be a humanoid face due to the low resolution of the Viking-1 television camera and the pernicious play of light and shadow near this hill.

It is believed that in 2001, the Mars Global Surveyor, which took more detailed photographs of this mysterious place with much better pixel resolution than the Vikings, delivered the final blow to the mouth of the supporters of the Martian Sphinx. Regarding the fact that the image of a humanoid face in the first photo was obtained as a result of the play of light and shadow, I can say that I personally have rarely seen a poorer argument. The fact is that from the point of view of technology, any drawing is nothing more than a play of light and shadow. The whole question is who is involved in this game. If a real artist does it, the result usually makes an impression on the audience. 42 years have passed, and this picture still has viewers. This means that the Artist, at least, deserves attention.

There is no dispute about tastes, but I was much more impressed by this play of Martian light and shadows.

There are other very interesting drawings on Mars that serious people prefer not to talk about, because they are just a play of light and shadow. For some reason, most of these drawings are bunched up in one region of Mars with the strange name of Kydonia. Looking ahead, I will say that in the encryption received by Jerry Eiman, we are talking about Kydonia. However, not only about her, but about our earthly Sphinx.

3. About what is encrypted in the coordinates of the Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx is located on the Giza plateau, which is located on the outskirts of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Egyptians this city and the whole country is often called مصر. It is pronounced as Masr, that is, almost like Mars. It is unlikely that the Egyptians will tell anything interesting about such an incident, so one thing remains - ask the Sphinx itself.

Its coordinates: 29 ° 58'31 "north latitude, 31 ° 08'16" east longitude. Why are they exactly like that ?! I tried to answer this question many times, but nothing good came out of it until I tried the simplest and most naive move.

The latitude of any geographic object is measured along the meridian, and this is half of the section line of the surface of the globe by a plane drawn through any point on the earth's surface and the axis of rotation of the Earth. It has been established that the length of each meridian on the earth's ellipsoid is 20004.274 km. It is clear that the entire meridian corresponds to an unfolded angle of 180 °, the top of which is the center of the Earth, and the sides are the radii connecting the center of the Earth with the north and south poles. Therefore, an arc with a length of 20004.274 / 180 = 111.1349 km corresponds to 1 degree on the meridian. The latitude of the Sphinx corresponds to the arc 29.9753 * 111.1349 =

The longitude of any geographic object is measured along the equator. The length of the earth's equator

40075,696 km. It is clear that 1 degree at the equator corresponds to an arc of length 40075.696 / 360 = 111.3214 km. The longitude of the Sphinx corresponds to an arc length of 31.1378 * 111.3214 = 3466.3 km.

Here 31 ° 08′16 ″ = 31.1378 °.

And now we will find the arithmetic mean of two values (3331.3 + 3466.3) / 2 = 3398.8 km.

This is a very accurate value for the equatorial radius of Mars 3396.2 km. Not all, but most of the planets of the solar system are, as it were, flattened at the poles, so their equatorial radius is sometimes greater than the polar one. For Mars, this difference is 20 km, and for Earth

21.3 km.

I believe that the coincidence of the values of 3398.8 km and 3396.2 km is very accurate, but I fully admit that there will be readers who will say that the error is as much as 2.6 km !!! To this I can answer: firstly, the relative error of 0.077% is very small for any, even the most demanding taste.

Secondly, no one will ever succeed in reducing this error to zero for a completely natural reason - the Earth's magnetic poles are constantly "traveling" … shifting. This means, in particular, that the geographic coordinates of objects are not constant.

Thirdly, anyone who has ever thought about the riddles of the Sphinx surely knows that he is inexhaustible for inventions. I fully admit that its creators laid in this plot, which seems to me interesting, not just the equatorial radius of Mars, but also some kind of mountain on Mars with a height of about 2.6 km.

As you can see, the Egyptians have very good reasons to consider the whole of Cairo Masrom, but they cannot explain this to tourists, because not every tourist has a calculator. Besides, there is another seemingly insoluble problem. The fact is that the equatorial radius of Mars from the coordinates of the Sphinx can be extracted, only because the Greenwich meridian is considered zero, and the decision to consider it the same for all countries was made in 1884 at the International Meridian Conference. In short, how did it happen that the Great Sphinx made such a decision long before 1884 ?!

The answer to this question, of course, is very important, but its discussion will lead very far from the main topic, and therefore I invite everyone to think about it on their own. At the current prime meridian in the coordinates of the Sphinx, the equatorial radius of Mars is really encrypted. This is an obvious fact, and it is impossible to argue with facts, even if they do not like them.

4. Coordinates of Martian Kydonia

There is also a surprise prepared for us here. Judge for yourself whether it is big or small.

In the English version of Wikipedia, in an article about Kydonia, I found the exact coordinates,, Faces on Mars,, 40.75 ° N and 9.46 ° W.

We are talking about Martian latitude and longitude, so we divide the Martian meridian by 180. That’s 58.9258 km. Now let's divide the length of the Martian equator by 360. We get

59.2749 km.

Now let's calculate the value 40.75 * 58.9258 + 9.46 * 59.2749 = 2961.97 km.

Most likely, this value will seem to you nothing outstanding. Alien signal catchers in passenger cars travel about that much in two months, and there seems to be nothing more to add.

But I will add. If this value is added with that which was obtained for the terrestrial Sphinx, that is, 3396.2 km, then you get 6358.2 km. And this is almost the exact polar radius of the Earth.

In general, the coordinates of Kydonia in the Russian version of Wikipedia are 37 ° 0 ′ N, 12 ° 48 ′ W, that is

If you add 2,938.97 km and 3396.2 km, you get 6,335.17 km. This value is clearly not up to the polar radius of the Earth … 6356.8 - 6335.17 = 21.63 km.

This value would also be completely ordinary if it did not almost exactly coincide with the difference between the equatorial and polar radii of the Earth 6378.1 - 6356.8 = 21.3 km.

5. Decoding of the signal "Wow!"

Everything is now ready to decode the famous signal. It remains only to remember what the speed of propagation of radio waves in a vacuum is equal to. Jerry Ayman knew the speed of light well, but something prevented him from applying this knowledge.

In 72 seconds, a radio wave will travel 300,000 * 72 = 21,600,000 km.

Now let's divide 21,600,000 km by the equatorial radius of Mars 3396.2 km. It will turn out

6360.0 km, that is, the polar radius of the Earth.

The question that the Martians asked us in 1977 is formulated something like this, Hello, Earth! How are you doing with the coordinates of the terrestrial Sphinx? Sorted it out or not yet?!,,.

They asked about this exactly one year after the photograph “Faces on Mars” was obtained… apparently, they considered this period sufficient at least for preliminary conclusions.

It is possible that the signals in the heads of the Martians travel at the speed of light, so they think we are too dumb.

If the earthly Sphinx was going to flee from its familiar place, I would understand this rush.

But so far there are no signs - as he lay, he is still. For him, 40 years is such a trifle, which is not even worth talking about. Therefore, let the Martians, if they are hunting, make fun of someone in another star system, but this number will not work for us. The Sphinx is in no hurry, and we won't.

6. Photo of a woman on Mars

God knows, I did my best to steer past this photo. The first draft of the article was without it. But then I thought that it would not be possible to sneak past anyway, the Martians would not wash like this by rolling, they would still make us answer. So why pull the rubber ?! Let me give you a better answer than anyone else …

And if you still read this recently written article of mine: "The answer to the riddle of the Great Sphinx", then you will immediately understand that the Martians knew in advance what this answer would be and, they drew that the answer is wrong, because a woman can also have,, the third leg,, … we will not specify which one.

In short, the question is - why didn't I even mention the third leg in women in that article ?! I answer: because I am an old-regime type … just as they told me in childhood that a woman is a deity and inspiration and a genius of pure beauty, so everything remained, despite the fact that completely different times came.

I am still convinced that you cannot look at a woman only as a sexual object … if we look like that, we will destroy everything - morality, family, society, and the state.
