The new invention was presented at the International Conference on Nanoenergy and Nanosystems by a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Wang Zhonglin. The smart suit, created by Zhonglin and his colleagues, is able to independently assess the health of the wearer, thanks to sensors woven into the fabric.
Flexible indicators and sensors sewn into the fabric of the suit are able to measure the host's body temperature, independently monitor the chemical balance, monitor the blood pressure and regularly record many other vital signs.
The interval with which this information is systematized and transmitted to the owner's smartphone can be independently adjusted thanks to the application. The program is able not only to structure and store information, but also to transfer the necessary data to the attending physician - so a person can always remain under observation, even if at the moment he is not in the ward or at the reception.
The suit is based on a flexible and resilient triboelectric nanogenerator that Chinese scientists developed this summer. The generator converts the energy collected during movement into electrical signals, thanks to which it has already been used in a number of other developments.
