The "Roswell incident" refers to the events that unfolded on July 2, 1947 near the American town of Roswell in the state of New Mexico. It was on this day that an unidentified aircraft, most likely an alien ship, crashed to the ground.

In the newspapers dated July 8, 1947, information was published that in the hands of the US military there was a flying disc discovered at one of the ranches in the Roswell area. But after a couple of hours, the commander of the 8th Air Force, Brigadier General Roger Rami, issued a denial.

According to his official statement, the found object was not an alien ship, but only a part of the secret probe of the Mogul program, which watched the nuclear tests of other countries.

Interestingly, a few years later, Jess Marcel, the former chief of intelligence at the Air Force base, gave a sensational interview. According to him, the story with the probe was only a cover and then the military actually found objects of unearthly origin.

Since then, July 2 has been proclaimed International UFO Day, and the place where the unidentified flying object fell is marked with special pillars.
