According to Mints, they successfully inserted an artificial piece into the brain of a rodent with a damaged cerebellum and completely restored the disturbed movements. The mechanism is connected to the brain, receives the necessary sensory information from it and transmits it to the spinal cord, as an intact area would do.
In the future, the professor hopes that their implants will also be used in people with brain disorders, but admits that there are a number of purely ethical problems in addition to the fact that many organizations oppose such experiments, even on rats.
