The US Department of Defense has released documents confirming long-standing rumors of funding for research into the search for alien life, the study of wormholes, invisibility systems and extra dimensions of space-time.
Documents released by the US Department of Defense reveal in more detail what they worked on in the famous "Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program" (AATIP). The Defense Intelligence Agency has published a list of 38 research materials that the program has worked on. According to the information received, a document marked "For Official Use Only" was sent to Congress in January 2018.
One such study, Traversable Wormholes, Stargates, and Negative Energy, was led by Eric W. Davis of EarthTech International Inc, a Texas-based research organization that researches cutting-edge science and technology with an interest in space-time theories, quantum vacuum research and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
Another project called "Hiding Invisibility" was carried out by the German scientist Ulf Leonardt, professor at the Institute of Science. Weizmann in Israel. Leonardt's research is related to theoretical quantum optics, and in 2006 his work on the theoretical creation of "an invisible hole in space inside which objects can be hidden" was published in the journal Nature.
In theory, this is possible by making the rays of light bend around the object that needs to be made invisible. This can be helped by microscopic rings or coils of metal wire on printed circuit boards, which interact with electromagnetic waves and change the way light travels. The result is a kind of black hole: some rays of light bend around the thing, while others fall into a trap. Instead, the creation of such a mechanism in the real world is not yet possible.
Another project was called Warp Drive, Dark Energy and Extra Dimensional Manipulation. Its leader is the theoretical physicist Richard Obousy, who also serves as director of the non-profit organization Icarus Interstellar, which works on "the research of disruptive technologies in the field of interstellar travel." The new model of the warp drive - which can reach speeds faster than the speed of light - was based on quantum theory of gravity and used the concept of extra dimensions in string theory. In 2009, the media credited Obusi with the creation of a "scientific warship project" that could hypothetically move through space using dark energy.
The wording of the rest of the studies is rather vague: in the Metal Glasses project, most likely, they worked on the creation of a new type of metal alloy, and the Biomaterials project was engaged in biotechnological tests.
The Defense Department did not publicly acknowledge the existence of this program until it was disclosed to the media. It was reportedly largely funded at the request of Harry Reid, the then Senate Majority Leader, in the amount of $ 22 million between 2007 and 2012. Most of the funding went to Nevada-based Bigelow Aerospace, owned by Reid's longtime friend and UFO hunter Robert Bigelow, according to the New York Times.

The first hints of the existence of the program come from Luis Elizondo, the military intelligence officer who led AATIP for seven years. When Elizondo resigned, he asked for footage of UFO encounters with fighters - videos that were subsequently published by the New York Times and the Washington Post. The Defense Intelligence Agency now says that the Advanced Aerospace Threat Recognition Program has been closed due to lack of funding, despite Elizondo's claims that the military continues to investigate UFO sightings.
