The perfectly round "Dead Lake" located in the outskirts of Penza, which has long attracted ufologists and researchers of the paranormal, was formed after a "UFO with nuclear engines" landed here in the early fifties, said one of the residents of the village of Leonidovka.

“It was in the early fifties - one night I heard a very strange and incredibly loud noise. Which was accompanied by an equally intense glow. Something fantastic was happening - a gigantic spaceship was descending from the sky - the roar and glow was generated by its engines, from which everything below burned and melted,”says the man, who wished to remain anonymous.

A UFO witness says that after the saucer landed, it stood for only a few minutes and then slowly took off and disappeared forever.

In memory of the space visit, a funnel of ideally round shape remained, which then filled with water and turned into a lake. But swimming in this lake is not recommended - they say that the water is radioactive.

This fact prompted ufologists to speculate that the engines of a huge UFO were nuclear.
