You are depressed by chronic disbelief. You see that the system of generally accepted, existential, accepted without proof, stable and comfortable ideas is relative and incomplete, and at any moment can crumble like a house of cards.
You are trying to understand how your brain works, creating realities and projecting illusions. You strive to break out of these realities and expand consciousness. You are looking for the Way.
Ignorance, dogmatic beliefs and multiple illusions (beliefs, fears and cosmological representations) are a reflection of the culture in which we are included. Sociocultural beliefs and fears create a barrier that we cannot go beyond to check how correct they are. Thus, illusions remain untested and reinforce the fears that gave rise to them.
In order to survive, a person constantly deceives himself - creating, maintaining and strengthening the world of his own illusions. Then why are we so afraid of death, which in fact simply means a loss of illusion?
No one wants to put up with the idea that life is the moment between birth and death. There must be some purpose in life! And while we do not know this goal, the prophets come up with it for us, offering faith in their Gods.
All religions and philosophical systems, in essence, tried to solve the main problem that occupied the minds of mankind - the problem of death. Western religions promise immortality in the "heavenly kingdom", where only the righteous officially recognized by society can enter.
Eastern religions, soberly understanding that human life inevitably ends with illness, extinction and death, offer passive humility and detachment.
Timothy Leary considered all representations (and the illusions based on them) to be useful, healthy and fruitful if they are life-affirming.

When injected into a receptive brain, they fuse with other notions, ideas and thoughts, evolve and become a powerful survival program.
But if a thought-virus penetrates the software, "healthy" representations degenerate into "malignant" ones. Hundreds of millions of unfortunate people live according to viral programs such as "the chosen people", "original sin", "God's wrath", and the "kingdom of heaven".
In the tunnel of reality of such viruses, a person with weak immunity and without internal reference points is easily controllable and suggestible. Do you want a higher reality and a higher truth? You are welcome! You just need to believe in the illusion of salvation … and not go beyond the territory limited by spiritual shepherds.
The thirst for immortality is skillfully manipulated by various ideological institutions, imposing their own rules of the game.
According to Timothy Leary, Genesis, the first chapter of the Judeo-Christian Bible, frankly lays out a strategy for manipulating pseudo-immortality, in which good and evil are used as "signage", cover, abstraction and cunning tactical move.
