Here is a short list of alien facts that you may not have known yet
1. Astronomers Margaret Turnbull and Jill Tarter of the Carnegie Institution, Washington, have compiled a list of 17,129 stars located relatively close to the Sun and presumably capable of having planets on which intelligent life could arise.
2. According to Turnbel, such stars must be more than three billion years old (the time required for the evolution of organisms), they must have a low mass and a high iron content; metals are essential for the formation of terrestrial rocky planets.
3. Topping the list is Epsilon of Indian A, a dim orange star from our part of the Milky Way, located some 11.8 light years from Earth.
4. The first scientific attempt to establish contact with aliens was made by astronomer Frank Drake (Frank Drake) in 1960;
he used an 85-foot radio dish from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory to hear if there were any signals coming from the two sun-like stars.
5. You did not know this, because he never heard anything there.
6. Most efforts in this regard were made by the Institute for the Search for Extraterrestrial Civilizations (SETI Institute), located in Mountain View, California, but they were in vain. Since its inception in 1995, this privately funded project has scanned over 1,000 stars for alien radio communications at a cost of $ 5 million a year.

7. Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the Institute, at his own risk, promised that the Allen Telescope Array, currently under construction, would catch the alien signal by 2025.
8. Download the program from the Institute's website, and you will be able to listen to space on the subject of negotiations between aliens. At least 187,000 people are already doing this.
9. The most probable centers of extraterrestrial life in our system are underground tunnels on Mars, hot spots on Saturn's moon Enceladus (its south pole is all dotted with geysers) and Jupiter's moons Aurora and Callisto (their ice caps can contain entire oceans of water).
10. Probably the first sighting of a UFO was in 1450 BC, when the Egyptians saw brightly glowing rings in the sky. Some who are particularly obsessed with UFOs interpret Ezekiel Chapter 1 as evidence of UFOs from biblical times.
11. In 1957, Antonio Villas Boas, a Brazilian farmer, reported that he had been kidnapped by aliens, gel, and then raped, while making sounds like a dog barking.
12. This subsequently set a precedent for further reports of alien abductions: a 2003 study at Harvard found that 7 out of 10 people abducted by aliens were being used as objects of intercourse.
13. According to Allan Cheyne, a psychologist at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, people who believe they have been abducted by aliens are prone to sleep paralysis.
14. In Newfoundland, sleep paralysis is called because there it is associated with visions of an elderly woman standing bent over the chest of a sleeping person. In the West Indies, this phenomenon is blamed on the ghosts of children jumping on asleep.
15. In space, it is impossible to hear someone sneezing: Streptococcus mitis, a bacterium that infects the nasopharynx and throat, happened to be
aboard the Surveyor-3 research probe sent to the moon. The samples were still showing signs of life when the Apollo 12 astronauts dissected the probe two and a half years ago.
16. However, perhaps we just scared them off: for the first time, scientists tried to introduce people to aliens in 1972, when Carl Sagan
(Carl Sagan) and Frank Drake sent a plate with a picture of a naked man and woman into space aboard the Pioneer 10 spacecraft.
17. And then they sent out the soundtrack: Voyagers, the probes launched in 1977, sent 30-centimeter gold-plated copper plates containing recordings of classical music, sounds of earthly nature and greetings in 55 of the most common languages on Earth.
18. Just in case, NASA has included a phonograph capsule and a needle to play the recordings.
19. On 30 September 2006, the French National Center for Space Research (CNES) launched Cosmic Connexion, an alien television program, into space. The broadcast was conducted into the system of the sun-like star Alrai, located 45 light years from Earth.
20. The video should reach the target in 2051.
