Director of the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus Vladimir Kostin said that recently he had not met information about cases of UFO sightings in the sky. At the same time, he told reporters about how, as a young pilot, he twice saw unidentified flying objects in the sky.
A press conference dedicated to the professional holiday of aviators was held in Minsk.
“There was no information lately. But in my practice, when I flew on Belavia planes as a pilot, there were two such cases,”Kostin said at a press conference, answering a question about whether Belarusian pilots meet unidentified flying objects.
“The first time it was in the area of the Moscow hub. At night we saw such a flying object. It was cylindrical in shape, a luminous beam was coming down from it,”said Kostin.
According to him, all the pilots who were in the sky in this region at that moment saw this strange object, but the controllers did not see it. “This cylinder hung-hung in the sky and went up sharply at a very high speed,” said Kostin.
Once the head of the aviation department saw a UFO when he was at the helm of an airplane flying from Minsk to Nizhnevartovsk.
“Then the controllers didn’t see anything either, but we, the pilots, clearly observed such an object in the sky,” he said.
Kostin also noted that the nature of such flying objects is still unknown.
