Inhabitants of Znamensky district claim: UFOs have landed in their area, and more than once. One of the legends of the Tambov region says that it was this area that the newcomers especially "loved". Eyewitnesses of unidentified flying objects organized a meeting at a local museum, where they shared their memories.

The banners describe the aliens in different ways: like blinking points in the sky, like a dark green ball in which a window shone, like objects of different geometric shapes.
“Three stars blinking in the night sky immediately attracted attention. Two of them sharply changed course, while the third continued to decline. The object hovered near a ravine, three meters from the surface, it was a dark green ball, in which a window shone. Suddenly, the ball opened. Inside there were two pilots - a man and a woman, - this is how eyewitnesses describe the UFO, which landed on August 22, 1965 in the village of Duplyato-Maslovo.
Old-timers recalled that from 1962 to 1965, UFOs visited them especially often. At different ends of the village, people saw outlandish objects in the sky - round, oval, cruciform - sometimes one at a time, but more often in groups. They usually flew from the southeast to the northwest, to where the active construction of the military unit was going.
“There is a dark-haired, gray-haired man, about fifty, dressed in a black hoodie, holding on to some levers,” says an eyewitness, a resident of Znamenka Nina Solomatina. - And next to a woman, she is younger, dressed in loose clothing. She raised her left hand and seemed to show him the direction. The ball immediately closed and disappeared at that very second.

Although the strange observations of local residents are usually associated with the construction of nearby military facilities, eyewitnesses of unexplained phenomena are found in other places. At various times, UFOs and aliens were observed in other settlements. Elena Pogodina from Alexandrovka says:

- It was in the summer of 2015. Late in the evening - it was already dark - I look out the window and see: a luminous ball with a diameter of about two meters is flying by. And inside, it seemed to me, even someone was sitting. I jumped out, the ball continues to fly towards the neighboring street, and, as luck would have it, there is no one else. A little later, a fellow villager Dina Bespalova appeared, but the ball was already out of sight.
Nina Turich, a resident of Aleksandrovka, is one of three eyewitnesses who observed UFOs in October 1984:
- A large ball appeared. It shone and radiated iridescent circles. It was beautiful but scary. My mother, the postman, was walking along this street. When the object disappeared, she ran home and, learning that we also saw an unusual phenomenon, she was terribly worried, fearing that what she saw would harm the child I was carrying.
You can treat these stories in different ways: to believe or categorically not to accept. Some live until old age and do not meet anything unusual in life. Others, on the contrary, observe glowing balls in the sky and communicate with aliens.
Not a single case of evidence of the appearance of a UFO in the Tambov region has yet been documented and confirmed. Local researchers of such cases have only "testimonies" of eyewitnesses, as well as some circumstantial evidence - as they say, the Tambov region has its own anomalous zones, "crop circles" and ground changes were found in places where eyewitnesses described unidentified flying objects.
