On the night of August 29, the sky over San Diego lit up with unusual lights. Despite the denial of authorities, local residents associate them with UFOs.
About an hour after sunset, around 8:00 p.m. local time, unusual lights could be seen in the sky across much of San Diego County.
First, people noticed one group of lights, then a second joined them. “They floated in one place and were very bright - a crazy spectacle,” eyewitnesses describe the event.
By posting photos and videos on social networks, people made various guesses: from alien invasions to hostilities. One of the theories turned out to be correct: a US naval squadron did indeed conduct exercises that night 50 km off the coast of San Diego. According to the Coronado naval base, the lights in the sky were used to practice the evasion maneuver.
But not all eyewitnesses believed this explanation, especially given the fact that UFO sightings have been recorded in Southern California before.
