Astronomers have long been debating the "immense power" of black holes. One of the points of scientific controversy is the hypothetical assumption that a supermassive black hole is capable of engulfing the galaxy in which it is located.

Black holes are the aftermath of supernova explosions. Their gravity is so great that even photons of light cannot leave them, which is why they are black. All objects falling into their gravitational field disappear without a trace in their vents. Therefore, it is theoretically possible to assume the presence of such a field that the whole matter will inevitably be attracted, like a thread by a vacuum cleaner.

However, most scientists do not share this apocalyptic point of view, because, as recent studies have shown, black holes tend to gradually evaporate. In addition, the orbits of stars rarely coincide, so it is unlikely that a star will come close to the hole. Astrophysicists are now studying the largest known black hole in the constellation Coma. Its mass is 21 billion more than the mass of the sun.
