Scientists have developed a new unique project to colonize Mars. It consists of buildings that resemble trees, that is, with a dome above the surface of the red planet and with the root system of tunnels under the ground.
This project was named “Redwood Forest”, or translated into Russian “Sherwood Forest”, as in the legend about Robin Hood, in which the forest protected noble robbers.
According to the idea developed by specialists, this Martian forest should be well protected, and also feed the colonizers on Mars. The project says that part of the building will rise above the ground and have the shape of a dome. And part of the building will be located under the surface of the red planet and have a system of tunnels. Together, the crown-shaped dome and root-shaped tunnels will resemble a tree, and such a city will resemble a whole forest.
Only one such building will accommodate at least ten thousand colonizers of Mars. The researchers are also confident that such a building system will allow people to grow plants, breed various animals and fish. In this they should be helped by the resources of the red planet, about which, by the way, not so much is known.
The creators of the "Sherwood Forest" project are confident that their "brainchild" will be useful not only on Mars, but also on our planet Earth, in its densely populated regions.
