More than a third of Russians (36.8 percent) are interested in supernatural phenomena, although almost equal shares of respondents are either not interested at all (27.9 percent) or are not very interested in these issues (30.9 percent), such data were obtained during a survey of Russians by Bashkirova & Partners

According to the company, all categories of respondents are interested in supernatural phenomena. At the same time, curiosity about paranormal phenomena largely depends on the level of education: the more educated the respondent, the more often he thinks about the inexplicable aspects of life. Thus, Russians with higher education show interest in mysterious phenomena 1.2 times more often than respondents with secondary specialized education (44.6 percent versus 36.5 percent, respectively) and almost 1.5 times more often than citizens with less than secondary education (44.6 percent versus 31 percent, respectively).

Women in general are somewhat more inclined than men to take an interest in the unknown (39.7 percent versus 33.2 percent, respectively). But among representatives of different age groups in general, people aged 18-29 (43.3 percent) and 40-49 (40.5 percent) are most often interested in “otherworldly” aspects of life.

However, more than half of the Russians surveyed do not believe in the transmigration of souls. At the same time, one fourth of the respondents still believes that this is possible. Most often these are people between the ages of 18 and 29 (32 percent), however, with age, the belief in reincarnation decreases (among respondents aged 60 and over, there are two times less such - 16.5 percent). Slightly more often than on average, respondents with higher (28.3 percent) and secondary education (28.6 percent) believe in resettlement of souls, and less often respondents with lower secondary education (19.7 percent). Women believe in transmigration of souls a little more often than men (26.6 percent versus 23.7 percent).

9.7 percent of respondents believe in the supernatural power of amulets and talismans, and 31 percent do not.

But according to the poll, a much larger number of Russians believe in telepathy - 40.4 percent (20.9 percent do not believe in it).

We add that the statistical margin of error is 3.4 percent.
