The Lutsk Zoo is in trouble. At about four in the morning, when the watchman was making a round, he heard a noise in the cage with deer. The watchman hurried to the aviary and saw a gray shadow rush out of it. I couldn't see what it was.
“Two females lay dead, only the male was alive, probably, he fought off the unknown animal with his horns,” said the director of the zoo, Lyudmila Denisenko. - On the ground, we did not see a drop of blood or a torn hair. Only the females had two punctures on their necks. When the veterinarian measured the depth, it turned out that the animal's teeth should be more than 5 centimeters long.
The police arrived at the scene, the deputy mayor of the city was concerned about the loss of animals. The fallow deer were four years old, healthy, this summer at the zoo they were hoping for a litter, but here such a misfortune!
When the dead carcasses were opened, it turned out that they were bled. Lyudmila Petrovna is even afraid to assume that it could be. If a dog got into the cages, he would gnaw the necks of animals. And the length of the teeth for a dog is unnatural.
- The fallow deer aviary is in the middle of the zoo. There are enclosures with weaker animals nearby. Why the fallow deer was attacked is difficult to even guess, - says the director. - Tomorrow (June 20) veterinarians will continue their research.
The "handwriting" of an unknown beast is very similar to the tricks of an unknown bloodsucker who has been rampaging in Ukraine for more than six years and in which scientists stubbornly refuse to believe. Popularly, the creature is called the chupacabra (translated from Spanish "sucking goats"). The strange beast usually drinks blood from rabbits, chickens, but also attacked nutria, pigs and goats.
