Scientists from the American University of Idaho have found that the number of real human vampires living on Earth tends to be several thousand. The research results are published in the New York Post.
The researchers attributed to the real vampires those people who drink human blood to feed themselves with energy. As it turned out, these "bloodsuckers" do not dress in black and do not sleep in coffins: among them are seemingly ordinary people of very different lifestyles and professions.
There are vampire doctors, lawyers, and even candlestick makers. Vampires prefer to remain silent about their unusual addictions even at a doctor's appointment, fearing to face self-loathing and psychiatric diagnoses.
The only thing that distinguishes vampires from ordinary people is that they experience constant fatigue, which is removed only by a sip of someone else's blood. Vampires are forced to look for donors who agree to make a small incision in the skin with a scalpel and share a small amount of "medicine".
The head of the study, Professor Williams, said that he was able to talk with 11 vampires who have been drinking human blood for several years.
"Real vampires are very conscientious and ethical," says Dr. Williams. According to him, most vampires believe they were born that way.
