Among the Latvians there are people who not only believe in ghosts and have seen them with their own eyes, but are engaged in the study of such paranormal phenomena
If at the beginning of the conversation with Konstantin Akula, President of the Latvian Association of Researchers of Anomalous and Paranormal Phenomena, Our City believed that ghosts and other mysterious phenomena were largely inventions of science fiction writers, by the end of the conversation this opinion had changed.
The Latvian Association of Researchers of Anomalous and Paranormal Phenomena was established over 8 years ago. In an effort to understand the unknown and mysterious, enthusiastic people began to research strange cases. Without much experience and, mainly, on sheer enthusiasm, using the simplest photo and video equipment, they went on expeditions to places where various anomalies were discovered.
“How did our research start? - recalls Konstantin. - With interest in esotericism and parapsychology. I wanted to start researching these anomalous phenomena myself. So a group of like-minded people gathered. Now we are dealing only with ghosts - it is interesting to know what happens to a person after death."
Our world is inhabited by many different paranormal entities: ghosts, phantoms, poltergeists … Many of them are quite aggressive and dangerous. According to Constantine, he would never want to face the same poltergeist. Once, in one of the apartments of a residential building, the guys had to find themselves in its epicenter. Four cameras and sensors were constantly turned off and on. In the evening, water was gushing from all the taps, and it was not possible to close them. In order not to flood the neighbors, the water was collected in buckets and poured into the toilet. But when the guys with buckets full of water left the apartment, the buckets were completely empty, and the clothes were dry. The neighbors have no flood. This force threw the invited priest against the wall.
What does a person feel in such a situation? Feeling of fear. The poltergeist tries to destroy the psyche of people with such "glitches". The only way to get rid of him is to move out, which later did the owners of the apartment.

Our contemporary researchers in Latgale have a well-known predecessor - Konstantin Raudiv.
In 1959, the Swede Friedrich Jurgenson, while recording birdsong in the forest near his home, managed to get his first audio recording of an otherworldly voice. Jürgenson was shocked when, while scrolling through the tape, he heard a male voice saying something about "birdsong at night." And then he heard his mother's voice speaking in German: “Friedrich, you are being watched. Friedel, my little Friedel, can you hear me? " Over the next four years, Jurgenson recorded hundreds of paranormal voices. He played back his notes at an international press conference, and subsequently published the books Voices from the Universe and Radio Contact with the Dead.
Despite his skepticism about this experience, Contantin Raudive met with Jurgenson. And when, like a Swede, he heard the voice of his deceased mother, who called him by her childhood name: "Costulit, this is your mother," he seriously engaged in research. For "spirit recording" Raudive with the help of electronic engineers designed a special device - a goniometer. By 1968, the scientist managed to collect more than 70,000 sound exhibits on his films.
"There can be no doubt," wrote Konstantin Raudive in his book "How to Hear the Inaudible", "direct contact with the other world has been established." “Research is not just about coming to a place, walking with a camera, having fun and returning home,” Konstantin Akula continues his story. - Everything happens completely differently. You go to emptiness all the time. Often you come and understand that there is nothing there, that everything is invented. It's good if out of 10 trips one is successful. Various techniques, mediums, psychics are involved in research. First, we collect information, go to the site, use the equipment to take measurements and survey, and then very scrupulously go through all the records, studying them. The first time we encountered ghosts was in Vilnius. In an abandoned mansion at 25 Antakalnio, located almost in the center of the Lithuanian capital, we not only saw them, but also felt them. During the war years, the Nazis tortured children in the basements of the house, experimenting with them. When we first entered the househeard someone running on the roof. Then stones flew at us. The photographs we took then show the faces of the children in the windows. In the haunted house we were recording, and among the noises we heard voices: "Help!" And then we realized how serious it is."
It is believed that a ghost is a restless soul, the spirit of a deceased person or mythical creature. According to Konstantin, the aggressiveness of the ghosts in the house is understandable. Imagine: you have been living in an abandoned building for more than 60 years, where homeless people often live, and you cannot leave this house anywhere. Here, not only ghosts, but also normal people will go crazy.
According to theory, ghosts cannot leave the house because for some reason they are "stuck" here. Souls in the house keep the pain and suffering that they had to endure, hence the desire to cling to life. Years in this state cause souls to be aggressive. A priest can release these souls and put them to rest.

“Of all the haunted places advertised in Latvia, the real place where there really are ghosts is Jaunmokas Castle,” says Konstantin. - In confirmation of this, we have real photos, real video. When we entered one of the premises of the building, the temperature on the sensors instantly jumped from room temperature of 20 ° to 50-degree heat. In the room, a white ball of energy was clearly visible on the curtains. The workers of the castle said that the lights were constantly extinguished in the premises. And our camera was constantly deaf, although we use very high-quality equipment”.
A paranormal entity is visible behind the researcher
Jaunmoka Castle is one of the “youngest” in Latvia, now it houses the Forest Museum. There is a hotel and a restaurant in the castle, and romantic weddings are often held there. Jaunmokas Castle has its own legend of love. At the beginning of the First World War, a young girl named Dorothea worked as a nanny in the castle. She fell in love with a handsome young officer, but he left her and left. And soon Dorothea found out that she was expecting a child. Suffering from shame and separation from her beloved, the girl drowned herself in a local pond. Since then, a restless soul wanders around the castle. They say that this is a kind ghost, they call him the White Lady. The ghost in Jaunmoka Castle was met by both the employees of the palace museum and tourists. And researchers from Germany even recorded the presence of an anomaly with special equipment.
