There is a legend that as if shortly before leaving for another world with the words: “Well, now I’ll find out how it all works,” the great physicist Albert Einstein managed to combine all known physical fields in one formula. The genius collected the calculations in the manuscript "Unified Field Theory", which was supposed to be a kind of testament to his followers. Einstein pondered for a long time whether it was worth passing on his greatest discovery to his contemporaries, and, in the end, on his deathbed, decided that it was premature.

Einstein's testament was searched for a very long time, and there is a possibility that it still lies in the dusty archives of some research center or library. But the overwhelming majority of historians believe that if Einstein's testament existed, it was, according to the last will of the genius, burned and scattered along with his ashes over the vast Atlantic.
Nevertheless, the myths around the great physicist were overgrown with new details. For example, it was argued that in the early 40s of the last century, the American military departments somehow received part of Einstein's theoretical calculations and decided to conduct a very unusual experiment.
The Second World War showed the importance of radar. It was coastal radars that helped Great Britain win the "air battle" with the German Luftwaffe. Allegedly, therefore, the leadership of the US Navy Science and Technology Center had a strange idea - to create an "invisible ship". To do this, Einstein was instructed to make calculations of the electromagnetic field of a special configuration and ultra-high intensity, which should have almost "collapsed space". Then, according to the authors of the legend, the radar beam would not be able to find an object hidden in such an electromagnetic "cocoon", be it a destroyer, cruiser or even an aircraft carrier.
According to another popular version, with the help of the brilliant inventor Nikola Tesla, some "invisibility generators" were created, which were installed on the destroyer "Eldridge". In the late summer and autumn of 1943, several verification experiments were carried out during the implementation of the Raduga project. And in November, the Eldridge and the power-cabled support vessel Andrew Fureset were stationed at the Philadelphia docks.
Legends say that after the Eldridge's equipment was turned on, the ship was enveloped in a kind of "greenish glow", permeated with many statistical discharges, reminiscent of the famous lights of St. Elmo. Then the electric generators of the Fureset were connected, and the radiance became a dense haze, and then the destroyer simply … disappeared from the eyes of observers and radar screens, only its trace on the water and fragments of cables remained. There were even witnesses who saw a similar ship several hundred kilometers away, near the naval base in Norfolk. After a while (here ufologists call both seconds and minutes), the contours of the destroyer became visible again. However, a real tragedy happened to his crew. Some of the sailors received severe burns of unknown origin, and many simply went mad.

Years passed, and as the activities of the US Naval Research Office were declassified, very interesting facts emerged. It turned out that from 1943 to 1944, Einstein actually did some calculations for the Navy. Alas, further searches in the archives yielded very few results. First of all, the main documents could not be found - the logs of the Eldridge and Andrew Fureset. Although, undoubtedly, these ships existed and participated in the transport operations of the Second World War. Today, most specialists, radio engineers and radio physicists, agree that the main element of radars and microwave ovens, the magnetron, lay at the heart of Tesla's famous beam weapon. In the legend of the Philadelphia experiment, it is quite rightly indicated that any very massive body, under certain conditions, can mysteriously fall under its own weight inside itself.
True, no "Tesla generators" could turn the "Eldridge" into an analogue of a black hole, because even if the entire earth's mass is compressed to the limit of collapse, a black hole with a diameter of several centimeters is formed …
So, the great physicist back in 1913 expressed an interesting hypothesis that streams of strange light can be born in the depths of stars, which we meet today at every step - from laser pointers to enchanting light shows.
This is where Einstein's connection with the Philadelphia Experiment is felt. Of course, the great physicist immediately realized that the principles of constructing the "Tesla tool" are completely unrelated to his long-standing work and have no further perspective due to the scattering of the radio beam.
