• In the Russian archives, for example, the following fact has been preserved - in 1848 the petty bourgeois Nikifor Nikitin was exiled to a distant settlement called Baikonur for seditious speeches about flights to the moon. Over the years, people have been able to appreciate this joke of fate.
• Since 1987, a chain of mysterious coincidences has been drawn in one of the shops in Cheshire (England). The attendants of this supermarket drew attention to a strange pattern: as soon as a new cashier sat down at the checkout counter at number 15, it turned out after a couple of months that she was pregnant.
The management of the store, shocked by this discovery, began to conduct a real spy on the staff in order to find out who "has a hand" in this with such incredible selectivity. The joker was not found. None of the male staff were caught molesting cashiers. Then they began to take women to this place, who were given a disappointing diagnosis by doctors - infertility. However, this drastic measure did not interrupt the strange succession of pregnancies among young employees.
Medicine has reached a dead end in attempts to explain such an incredible phenomenon. Over the course of several years, 24 employees have changed at the checkout. As a result - 24 pregnancies and the birth of 30 children. The reason for this phenomenon has never been found. But since then, a queue has formed from those wishing to work at this cash desk.
Yes, Fortune is a cheerful girl. And her sense of humor can only be envied. However, her humor is not always so harmless. Sometimes her "black humor" and quirks surpass the most sophisticated human imagination!
• For example, remember the fate of the Romanov family. Before his election to the kingdom in 1613, the youth Mikhail Romanov lived with his mother in the Ipatiev Monastery. It was there that the history of the dynasty of the last Russian tsars began. And after a little over 300 years in the Ipatiev house, it ended with the execution of the entire royal family.

And when it was time to harvest, it turned out that one of the carrots sprouted directly through the lost ring. It was in excellent condition - how can the earth that once gave rise to them damage the gold and the gem?
• An incredible gift was made by the Fate to the inhabitant of the city of Germany Bit terfeld Otto Teer. For six years he lamented the lost ring. But the fish of extraordinary size swallowed the ring instead of food and, in order to make a miracle, returned it back to the master's cook.
As physicists say, one fact is an accident, two is a trend, three is a pattern. However, what if a great many stories of this kind with incredible coincidences have already been collected, and the nature of the laws hidden in them has not been known? So far, it remains only to be surprised at the quirkiness of the coincidences that happen in life.
• The Weekend (England) of May 19, 1976 tells of an incredible incident in Detroit, USA. There, with an interval of one year, the same child fell from the 14th floor and each time ended up safely in the hands of a certain Joseph Figlock, who accidentally passed by. This incident seems so unique that it is difficult to believe in it. From a mathematical point of view, the probability of this case is a value, if not equal to zero, then vanishingly small. But His Majesty Chance, apparently, knows nothing about the theory of probability. Or he sometimes does not pay any attention to her.
• If you believe the American media, the same situation (with the exception of the place and participants in the events) repeated itself in 1980 in Montgomery (Idaho). A 2-year-old Robin Moore fell out of the window, landing directly on the head of student Judy Barnes as she walked along the sidewalk. Both participants in this incident got out of it with minimal losses.
And now, exactly a year later (another complete analogy with the previous story!) Judy again passed under the windows of the same house. And again Robin, who had already grown a little, "planned" on her from the same apartment. And again, Fate turned out to be favorable to both of them.
• An incident that happened in Italy in 1987. A resident of Milan, a certain Vittorio Veroni, got stuck in a car at a railway crossing and could not get out of it. The train ran over the car and Vittorio died. By a grim irony of fate, 5 years earlier, Veroni's daughter had died in the same place and in the same way. In the first and second collisions at the level crossing, the train was driven by the same driver.
The overwhelming majority of people believe that the main task of Lady Luck is to bring us wealth and glory. However, it is not. Or rather, not quite so. Wealth and fame are not the main signs of luck. The main and primary concern of Fortune is the preservation of human health and life. So it is quite possible to call a not very rich, but very old person lucky, if only on the basis that he lived to his age.
Life expectancy is actually a reliable indicator of luck.
There are many examples that should lead even the most stubborn skeptics to the idea that it was not without incredible luck or the same incredible bad luck. An incredible incident took place in South Africa. A young guy was taken to the hospital, and a long knife was driven into his skull during a fight to the very hilt. The doctors just shrugged their shoulders - they could not understand why their patient was still alive with such a wound. He did not even lose consciousness and only hissed and cursed when they put him on the operating table.

1848, September 13 - this day was unlucky for Fainiz Gage, the master of the Rutland-Burlington railway section. Blasting work was carried out there to build a road. When placing the explosives, Faynez tamped gunpowder into the pit with an iron rod 1.5 inches in diameter. The twig bumped into a stone and struck a spark. An explosion thundered. The crowbar that flew out of the pit pierced the master's head, going through it from the jaw to the crown.
The comrades took the bloody but unconscious Gage to the hotel - the only place where medical assistance was possible. Having overcome the path of a mile and a half and arrived there, Gage himself reached the doctor's office, climbing a long staircase. Removing the rod from the head, the surgeon was forced to remove part of the brain. No one had any hope of a successful outcome. However, fate was kind to him. The man lived for many more years, contrary to all the forecasts of doctors.
In Alexander Lavrin's book "The Encyclopedia of Death" there are many cases described when people stubbornly did not want to part with life in situations that a priori were considered completely hopeless. We are talking about the death penalty.
• 1983, April 22 - 33-year-old criminal Don Louis Evans, having received a discharge of 1900 volts from the electric chair, still survived. The electric shock snapped the belts with which Evans was fastened to the chair, and the smell of burnt meat spread in the room. However, the doctors stated that the heart of the condemned man was still beating. After 4 minutes. the second category was served. And again the incredible happened. The perpetrator stubbornly refused to die. His lawyers, who were present at the execution, asked to suspend the execution of the sentence in order to call the governor of the state with a request for clemency, because the execution turned into brutal torture. However, no pardon followed. And only the third discharge ended this stubborn life.
• 1989, July 14 - Convicted Horace Dunkens was shocked 4 times. And the unspoken "champion" of survival in the electric chair, a certain William Vandiver, was executed on October 16, 1985. To execute him, it took 5 times to turn on the switch.
Of course, all these cases can be attributed to the incredible reserve capabilities of the human body. But if you believe the doctors, they differ little from person to person. For what reason did some withstand the strongest electric discharge (and not one), while others (under the same conditions) instantly perished? What is this if not a sign of incredible luck?
