Members of the Onego diving club told how they dived in the place of a possible fall of the Segezha meteorite. A joint expedition of representatives of the Russian Geographical Society, the Onego diving center, the Institute of Geology and the Institute of Northern Water Problems took place in February. By that time, the research area had been heavily modified by enthusiasts who had previously traveled to the site of the alleged fall of the object.

The divers examined the bottom relief, recorded its changes, and took samples of bottom sediments and water. The hydrochemical analysis of these substances and comparison with the data of many years of research have not yet been completed. In addition, a georadar survey took place at Vygozero.

Neither the funnel, which was recorded by the first divers in December last year, nor any foreign body was recorded by the device, members of the Onego club said. An attempt to check the condition of the sand mechanically, using a drilling tool, confirmed the data of the device: the rods easily entered the sand by at least three meters.

Divers ironically put forward four possible versions of what happened on Vygozero. They do not exclude that a certain object or its fragment was actually lifted and taken away in an unknown direction.

Perhaps, upon contact with ice and water, the "meteorite" collapsed, and small fragments have not yet been found. In addition, the object could somehow "sink" deeper and has not yet been detected by publicly available methods. Divers also joke that, perhaps, "the aliens did their dirty deed and flew away."

Recall that on December 1, 2014, an unknown object fell to the bottom of Vygozero. A group of rescuers worked at the scene of the incident. Specialists of the international organization "Cosmopoisk" came to Karelia to investigate the scene of the accident. They claim that there is an ice comet at the bottom of the reservoir.
