On the territory of the modern village of Abu Erteila in Sudan, the workers of the Russian-Italian expedition discovered, as they themselves say, "the main find of the decade." In addition, the sacred boat of scientists was attracted by the inscription of the Meroite kingdom, which, in ancient times, was the closest neighbor and rival of the powerful Ancient Egypt.
If we dwell on the finds in a little more detail, the scientists reported on the discovery of a basalt altar, the base of which is a sacred boat, decorated with hieroglyphic inscriptions. This entire set of ancient artifacts was inside the ruins of a temple that was once destroyed by a fire, and there is not even an approximate date when it happened. Even radiocarbon dating has not provided clear data.
A promising find, however, was the discovered inscription of the Meroitic kingdom, which in ancient times opposed the powerful Egypt.
It is little-studied scientists, but these writings can serve as a powerful source of information for scientists, which is important for understanding the very structure of the Meroite kingdom and its connections with the outside world.
