In 1930, in Honduras, across the Choluteca River, a strong, solid bridge was built, capable of withstanding even a hurricane.

However, no one expected that …

When Hurricane Mitch hit the city in 1998, the Cholutek Bridge survived. But another problem arose - the hurricane shifted the river bed and destroyed the roads leading to the bridge. What once seemed like a masterpiece of modern construction has become useless.

Within five years, the Cholutek Bridge became known all over the world thanks to its unofficial title "Bridge to Nowhere". Numerous publications described the technical achievement of the designers and admired the skill of the builders, which allowed the structure to withstand the most powerful Category 5 hurricane.
