I rarely watch TV, but, as they say, aptly. If I turn it on, then I definitely get on an "interesting" program, where ideas are voiced one more delusional than the other. I don’t say the name of the channel, to the readers, so it’s clear which of the Russian television channels has such materials.
So I recently got carried away by watching a program, where in all seriousness the presenter talked about the signs of the coming apocalypse, which are clearly traced in the events of recent years.
A funny video with "talking" animals is on the screen. Surely everyone has seen not a single similar video: an angry cat, driven to white heat, meows something inarticulate, which even remotely cannot be taken for human speech. A cheerful dog howls to the beat of the music, etc. Behind the scenes, the author authoritatively broadcasts that animals have already learned to imitate human voices, and this is one of the most important signs of an impending global catastrophe. It refers to some "revelations" of the holy fathers and the quatrain of Nostradamus, who, allegedly many centuries ago, predicted that animals will master human sounds, and this will be the beginning of the decline of our era …
I just want to exclaim: are you serious ?! Even if you listen very well, the sounds made by a furious cat are not like any words. And how many screams I heard in the village as a child escaping from cats preparing for a large-scale fight, you cannot count! According to the logic of the creators of the program, based on dubious sources, the global decline of civilization should have come 30 years ago!
Further in the program, we talked about domestic insects: bugs and cockroaches. With a clever air, the author broadcast that they had long left the boundaries of big cities, which also directly indicates an impending catastrophe. True? If this were so, then the manufacturers of "battalions" and "masha" crayons would have gone bankrupt long ago. Alas, in our city, and in other megacities, "raisins" are still alive! I don’t know in which city he disappeared forever, if yes, then share your best practices in this area. Our home, for example, cannot even collectively get rid of obsessive pets!
The third item was the classic of the apocalyptic genre: the invasion of the infernal locust, the size of a mouse, which destroyed all crops in the warm latitudes of our country. Oh, these fairy tales, oh, these storytellers, I just want to exclaim after the hero of the famous cartoon. Please note that the giant locust regularly attacks the Krasnodar Territory and its surroundings. And she is not at all huge, this is her usual size, do not confuse her with a grasshopper!
Next on the list were “pickled” aliens kept in secret laboratories deep underground, modified vegetables that, when ingested, interbreed with human cells and begin to reprogram the system.
Almost an hour of airtime flew by unnoticed. One crazy theory followed another. But this is not enough for the authors of the program, they not only broadcast their ideas at a convenient time for housewives and pensioners, but also tour the country with “educational” goals, with great, I must say, success.

The ranks of flat-earth followers and reptilian trappers are growing exponentially; people are actively discussing the latest news from the life of the world government.
It would be understandable if we lived in an information vacuum and did not have access to books or scientific literature! But people do not want to analyze or turn on the mind, they only need what the "authoritative" presenter said; they take dubious theories at face value.
They may object to me, they say, if you don't want to - don't look! Yes, I would be glad, but I do not live in isolation, and some of my friends are seriously trying to discuss the latest news from TV with me.
Another objection that you often hear: it's a joke, entertainment, science fiction. People need horror stories to rest their heads, don't take everything so seriously.
They say that history repeats itself. Well, I completely agree with this theory. The only frightening thing is that the spiral of time is spinning faster and steeper. In the 90s, stories about giant mutant rats on the Moscow subway were popular. The "truthful" stories of the diggers, published in tabloid newspapers, were massively passed from mouth to mouth, supplemented by stories of "eyewitnesses", and acquired new details and facts.
The good old rats the size of a dog no longer frighten or surprise anyone, the new time has other heroes and myths. The new era has more informational opportunities for spreading fake news and dubious theories!
The program has ended. I was at a loss for several minutes. It seems to me or not, but just such materials can be attributed to the action of a global conspiracy against the inhabitants of the country. Conspiracy against science, education, logic and common sense. A conspiracy against everyone who once went to school, read popular science literature, knows how to think and analyze. The more such nonsense pours into people's ears from the screen, the easier it is to manipulate immature minds, the easier it is to convey to a person any dubious hypothesis and pass it off as the ultimate truth. This is where the real conspiracy is, the purpose of which is to finally displace from the human consciousness the need to analyze information, think critically and separate fiction from reality. How else to distract us from serious problems, only with such pseudoscientific "horror stories"!
While most of us hold on, do not succumb to mass stupefaction, but only thanks to strong knowledge hammered into our heads back in the days of the good old school curriculum. But time passes, and soon such programs will become the only source of knowledge. Those who follow us will simply have nothing to compare with, nothing to rely on in their conclusions. And then the real apocalypse will come, reason and logic will collapse under the onslaught of murky theories. The only thing that pleases me is that I will be too old to be surprised and indignant.
